It's a long shot but I want to win the PL CL is great but trophies are what it's all about. Plus if we blow a 13pt lead to Newcastle then it's our own fault.
Liverpool only lost 1 match so far and even that was unlucky.
I'd honestly prefer Newcastle to get something tomorrow. We're already 13 points ahead of them so would rather keep the improbable dream alive.
Hoping Utd can do us a favour and beat Spurs.
Obviously most importantly Villa need to get 3pts Sunday!
I'm pretty sure the current bottom 3 will go down tbh but Brentford, Palace and Everton have to be careful.
I think Liverpool can give City a run for their money for the league but hopefully Villa can have something to say about it Realistically though I think we're competing with Spurs for CL.
Bournemouth had 5 more points at the same stage last season fwiw. I just can't see Burnley staying up what with with the inexperienced squad and manager to boot.
I actually don't think it's certain who wins the league though!
Of course there's a lot of points to play for but that result seems significant, failing to beat a fellow bottom 3 side at home and the equaliser coming right at the end. I just can't see them getting out of it now.
His first season here was actually pretty good. 8 goals and 7 assists as well as lots of entertainment. Shame he's barely played for us since but still popped up with a couple of crucial goals towards the end of last season.
Yep city's net spend was over £100M per season when they were building at the start and that was with the old TV deal which was considerably less. Oh and when £20-30M would still get you a top player.
I think this is pretty much what they're doing. I don't think the round badge would have featured at all this season if it wasn't already on the shirts before Heck arrived.
I do but I signed Sesko to eventually replace him so have been rotating them. Ollie has scored a decent amount of goals but he does seem a bit streaky. Also watching him I noticed he loses the ball a bit too much and keeps running offside. I feel like FM could have been more generous with his dribbling and technique especially.
Yeah maybe, and if they had just said "we'll be modifying the badge" and it had gone from the Lerner badge to this one I don't think it would have gone down so badly. The problem is it replacing the round badge we could have had, where most agree it feels like a step backwards and a step down.
What I still can't get my head around is how after all this we've just ended up with the Lerner badge with tweaks. I thought the whole point of changing the badge was to get away from that era. It was meant to be representing the new and improved Aston Villa. Very disappointing.
The only one that springs to mind where a ref has gone to the monitor and then stuck to his original decision was for our penalty v Palace this season (thankfully).
