As much as I appreciate what he did for Villa I'd be lying if I said he deserved a crack at the England job. Villa is the only real success on his CV, which is understandably all we care about but Leicester and Norwich especially showed his limitations.
They probably will but I still think the whole project was unnecessary and has set them back several years. They had a team that won things and disassembled it for basically no reason to replace it with a ridiculously expensive one that doesn't win (yet).
First season he was (aside from the goals) but in that second season he played well from what I remember. Was part of some great team performances like the 7-2 v Liverpool.
Literally admits the stats show Watkins is the better choice and then picks Toney because reasons
They keep asking these sort of ex players though like Murray and Deeney who are always bound to go for the 'target man'
I think it's City's system stifling individuality, he looked good for Argentina at the WC. Also winning everything by the age of 23 probably inevitably leads to a little drop off.
True, hopefully Huddersfield can regroup for one last push. I did always think it would be Wednesday that had the best chance of staying up but they have stopped winning at the wrong time.
They've rightly earned a lot of plaudits for competing well against the top teams but these sort of games are the ones they need to get up for and they haven't. Losing at home to Sheff Utd was another.
