Seems like a little bit of a mess with the national league playoffs. Gateshead finished in a playoff position but have been told they wouldn't be allowed in League 2 after an issue securing a lease with their stadium. So now they won't be allowed to take part in the playoffs. The national league then gave Solihull Moors a bye to the semi final before changing their mind and awarding the bye to Altrincham.
I can see why people think it's a penalty but to be fair I'm quite old school when it comes to fouls, I wouldn't give half the ones that are given these days.
There was one yesterday where the ball struck Digne and it went behind for what should have been a corner. Officials gave a goal kick. VAR then checks for a potential handball against Digne (I don't believe it was) but the ball does clearly hit him. Penalty check complete and play resumes with a goal kick. How? I know VAR is not for reviewing things like corner decisions but when you have literally just watched a replay why is what actually happened then willfully ignored? I think a similar thing happened in Man City v Chelsea too.
Big character from him today. Missed a great chance at 0-0 and lost the ball for their goal. Could have easily gone into his shell but he kept working and played a crucial part in the equaliser and obviously scored the 2nd.
