It feels like we're going through an era where all football kits are just a bit shit. Ours definitely could have been better but they also could have been worse
The idea that we can just sell him and then buy him back in a couple of years is flawed for several reasons. Firstly it would probably cost the club twice as much. Secondly he might not even want to come back if the club discard him now. There's also the possibility that he becomes a top player and Man City, United etc come knocking and we can't even tempt him back. Give the lad a fair new contract and either find him a good loan move or make sure he's assured minutes this season.

Chelsea are the only team to be holders of the Europa League and the Champions League at the same time.
Only one team have ever won the World Cup final playing in red. England.
Javier Mascherano's first game in senior football was for Argentina's national team, not for his club at the time, River Plate.
I feel like he was more underwhelming than useless but there's definitely a player in there. Still got 32 goals and 15 assists for Chelsea in 3 seasons plus the winner in a CL final. He was meant to be brilliant for Leverkusen before that too (although we have one like that )
I guess if you ignore the fees and just look at the squad, they've replaced Xhaka with Rice and added Havertz which I'd say is pretty good. Also I think Timber should be a big upgrade on what they had at RB.
I reckon they could actually do a bit better than expected under Postecoglu with less expectation. They've got a new GK which was an obvious weakness and added a bit more creativity in the final third with Maddison and Solomon. The Kane thing dragging on is obviously the biggest problem though. They could have done with selling him early and getting a new striker settled in IMO.
