I've never actually seen Ings as one of those. He can drop deep and link the play as well as score. He got a couple of really nice assists for us like the one to Bailey for his debut goal v Everton. I think maybe it's more a case of teams tending to like a more physical, athletic forward these days.
If there was a cheap clause surely someone would have activated it in June/July? Which makes me think there isn't one, or that's what I'm hoping anyway.
As others have said the fact that we are selling academy graduates to premier League and championship teams for decent money shows the academy is doing a really good job in recent years.
Little bit of a shame that we never really saw much of Archer and he didn't even score a League goal for us but I think it's the right decision.
I take it to mean our philosophy basically (and I don't particularly like that word) but the methods he uses and everybody buying in to them. From analysing the opponents meticulously to formulating a game plan for each opponent. But all still based on the same fundamental principles of how we play, like the shape, playing from the back, building with the 3 etc.
