I get why we play the high line and it works far more often than not but I still can't help wondering if it's a bit naïve at times though. Like on Sunday when we'd just scored Chilwell got in far too easily and it could/should have been an immediate equaliser. Could we not just drop a little deeper and tighten up for a bit? Similarly we seemed far too open at Liverpool, especially early on when surely you need to stay in the game.

I saw he was on the Simon Jordan one, will probably give it a watch at some point even though it will likely infuriate me I watched the one with Allardyce where he went on trying to prove he wasn't a dinosaur and he left me in no doubt that he is in fact a dinosaur.

To be fair he's only been there a couple of weeks and they've probably got a settled winning team so it's understandable.

Yeah we do have 2 players per position but really not helped by 2 of those defenders being injured at the moment (Carlos and Moreno) which is denying Digne and Konsa/Cash rest. Oh and Chambers not looking like reliable backup in the ECL.

Sounds like Moreno needs more time As for Carlos, Emery said he might be back in training this week when asked last week.

Would like to see us go strong enough to get through. Ideally would rest Cash and especially Digne but not sure we can unless someone can do a job out of position. Maybe give Ramsey an hour to get him match fit. Olsen Cash, Chambers, Lenglet, Digne Bailey, Donk, Tielemans, Ramsey Zaniolo, Duran 3-1 Villa

I just remember a couple of seasons ago goals were being ruled out for any attacking players handling the ball in the final phase of play and intent didn't matter. So it was basically different rules for attackers and defenders. So maybe they've changed it since.

I thought Chelsea had the better chances but I found it difficult to keep track of what chances were offside and which would have counted tbh. For what it's worth the xG for the game on the BBC was 1.35 to 1.04.

Sheff Utd got absolutely thrashed but no idea how the 1st goal isn't disallowed when it touches Gordon's hand? Unless they changed the rule again. And then the 3rd comes from a free kick that looked like a great tackle to me. Obviously they completely imploded afterwards but you could argue both of those change the game significantly.

Said it before the season but still baffled why they've turned a successful club into a 'project'. They could sign ready made world class stars but they've gone for untapped potential and gambles. They've spent £1BN in 3 windows and Conor Gallagher is still starting in midfield as captain They don't even have a proven goalscorer. It's almost impressive how bad their business has been.
