  1. Ireland destroying Scotland is a bit unexpected isn’t it?
  2. Ramsdale in goal! That’s the sign I was looking for and Italy are at 4/1 currently.
  3. No he’s more or less on that level. I believe clubs in Spain and Italy tend to have a bit more traditional keepers. There’s still a limited amount of clubs where the keeper really is an integrated part of play, Man City and Liverpool obviously and Bayern, teams playing a very high line need a sweeper keeper with excellent feet. In the Prem clubs like Arsenal and Brighton are trying as well. The game is developing that way though and I doubt any big club in England would pay big money for a ”traditional” shot stopper in the future. Ten Hag would probably love to replace De Gea with someone more modern but he can’t, since DDG is on £375k per week and no other club would take him because of that.
  4. Belgium’s squad used to be great but is definitely ageing. No more than 3-4 of their players would have a chance for France.
  5. Interesting formation, seems he’ll be part of a double pivot together with Tchouameni instead of playing as a single 6. Good luck Boobs!
  6. But Werner doesn’t have good technique, that bit was lacking even back at Leipzig. He’s also underperforming his xG something brutal and after a while it can’t all be explained with bad luck. I’m sure Chelsea would like to upgrade on him but that will be difficult considering the wages they decided to give him. Spotrac says he has £272k per week which is more than Salah, Kane etc, so he’s not going anywhere even on loan unless Chelsea decides to cover half his wages or so.
  7. It was 3 cm apparently, not 3 inches. But that’s why he walks with a slight limp. https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2019/jul/21/wesley-moraes-aston-villa-striker
  8. Isn’t his one leg 2-3 inches shorter than the other? Quite impressive to have, or have had, a career in sport if that’s the case.
  9. Imagine the contrast with him next to McGinn, I’d be tempted just for that effect.
  10. No doubt he will be a success again at Juventus. Interesting to see if Man United pay another 100m to sign him a third time in 2024.
  11. The spanish Burnley signing Bale would be a surprise.
  12. It’s the same — but only if the player stays until the contract ends. If the club want to move the player before that, it’s not the same. A player with a transfer value above zero can be sold, or at least loaned to another club. If the player in a couple of years isn’t performing enough to warrant 125k per week, he could be difficult to loan out unless Everton agree to pay a part of his wages. That’s why paying high wages for ”free” transfers is risky. Those players can become impossible to move.
  13. Number of passes, players’ positions when making passes and amount of possession. Large blue-green dots in a symmetrical pattern with lots of lines between them = lots of possession, many passes in an organised style. Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea plus to some extent Leicester, Brighton. Smaller yellow-orange dots in a drunken pattern with fewer lines between them = less possession, fewer passes and less structure. Goalkeeper also less involved in build-up. Burnley, Norwich, Watford, Villa.
  14. I thought budget Pep already was Saka’s manager?
  15. They also nearly won zero trophies, he could do that here.
  16. But what would it say about Southgate if he picked Grealish over Saka at this point? Saka has been 100 times better the whole season.
