Not just for the here and now tbf, most or all players rumoured to come in this summer are young. The manager only signing for the here and now was Gerrard, who couldn’t get enough of expensive 29 year olds on high wages.

I hate this window already. Had a feeling we might not net spend this summer, and lose a couple of favourites. Swapping Dougie for McKennie with a measly 15-20 million on top is exactly the kind of horror I was dreading.

He can’t seem to get involved when he plays for England, had just 13 touches when he was subbed. With Villa he’s usually the main man, constantly involved, linking up or carrying the ball. It’s obviously because the teams have different instructions but it won’t make Ollie look better.

Man City have been the best team in the world for a couple of years, but this season? Nah. Very effective beating Burnley and Sheffield, but their record against better teams this season has been weak. Nowhere near as good as last season.
