  1. If we buy Sporting, maybe we don’t have to pay compensation for Amorim. I like it.
  2. Well if it is Fulham’s manager, we get someone portuguese AND someone with Prem experience?
  3. CP will be devastated if he isn’t considered a mate of Gerrard’s anymore.
  4. Purslow did not contact any candidate while Gerrard was still there, no way. If any contacts were made before the sacking it could only have been Sawiris, or Lange on Sawiris order.
  5. It seems clear Purslow had planned to keep Gerrard and had not spoken to any candidates. But then Sawiris lost it and Gerrard was out. And now Villa risk being turned down by candidates in the media, every day.
  6. Villa’s plans for the first team since the takeover has been to do one thing, and when trouble comes do the opposite. Then if someone influential is openly critical, maybe try a third solution. That’s not what people usually mean by strategy.
  7. When Beale talks about a lack of strategy I don’t think he means gameplans. Maybe a long term strategy from the board. Beale can **** off, but things like these prove that people like Purslow and Lange are laughing stocks in the football world.
  8. Liverpool at home, winnable as long as they stay shit. After the WC they’ll probably have another 6-8 injuries too.
  9. Strong desire for a cut price Rodgers, good one.
  10. Emery’s football may not always get the blood racing but his pedigree and merits surely do. Would be a coup considering the table right now.
  11. Another problem with the idea of Dyche for 6 months to keep us up: when those months are over and Villa maybe finished 16th playing unattractive. Would an elite manager suddenly want to come after that?
  12. Big risk of relegation with Dyche. Could see him struggle with our players, and they might not think they signed up for Dycheball, leading to mutiny.
  13. Doesn’t Sean Dyche have a sister who could manage Villa? Then we’d get the best of two worlds, british stability and cred in the Guardian.
  14. So british managers are a guarantee for quality? Now I’ve heard everything.
  15. Players like Buendia, Bailey, Luiz, Traore are made for Dycheball, they just don’t know it yet.
  16. If Forest keep playing like this, they won’t be bottom of the table much longer.
  17. Coutinho is an extreme confidence player and has been extra shit recently when the whole team’s confidence has been zero. Could improve if the general mood in the camp picks up. He won’t be someone to build a team around, but can still add a little here and there. I have no hard feelings about him, he cut his wages by 75% to go somewhere where he had a chance to rescue his place in the Brazil team (which I’m sure he’ll end up losing anyway). The problem was Gerrard and Purslow decided to sign him permanently.
  18. Agree with this. One of Gerrard’s many mistakes was elevating the whole captaincy issue. With him gone, let it rest for the season to avoid more unnecessary drama. McGinn doesn’t have to play anyway.
  19. ”Relaxat et aperi ano non nocebit”
  20. Not saying you’re wrong, but it’s possible the best experience we can buy is someone who is proven mediocre. Is that better than a wildcard? maybe.
  21. Deep in a relegation battle is pushing it. No club is deep into anything in October. We’re one win away from 13-14th.
  22. If a credible reporter is told something by a source who has direct knowledge of something, and then writes about it, it's a poor description to call it "speculation". Speculation is when someone is guessing. Truth can exist outside of Villa's official web page. Crap reporters speculate all the time, no surprises there, but not all journalists are the same.
  23. Guardiola is more likely, at least he hasn't turned us down yet.
