  1. Bentancur scored 1 or 2 goals in what, three years, at Juventus. Soon he’ll be Spurs top scorer.
  2. Leeds lose after being in the lead 3 times. I guess that proves they’re even more mentally weak than us?
  3. Wages is the only issue and will stop any transfer. No club will give Ings a contract worth 130k per week. So we can’t sell him, not even for a fee of £1. It will be loans for him, where Villa pay part of his wages. Another millstone around the neck.
  4. We won’t be able to sell at all with his wages. It’s the ”Everton curse”. It’ll be another series of loans where Villa pay half his wages or so.
  5. Thinking the same thing. This WC is the most important thing in Emi’s life and even though he loves the club, he loves the Argentina team more.
  6. Shouldn’t be so hard to sign goalkeepers, at least not a number 1. Look at keepers doing well at clubs in Europe, offer serious money, done.
  7. I worry about that too. It’s such a shame because he’s exactly the type we need, pace and solid on the ball. Another potential worry is that he didn’t even have time to get used to the league before the injury.
  8. Konsa has been better (or less bad if you prefer) lately. Late last season and in the beginning of this he was absolutely hopeless.
  9. There’s a clear possibility Emery will focus on getting in CBs with recovery pace and who are comfortable on the ball. We don’t really have that, at least not without Carlos. Mings is more comfortable as a firefighter in the box. Chambers is very slow. Konsa is shaky with the ball. Bednarek is Bednarek.
  10. I’m afraid we can’t get rid of many of those 13 either.
  11. Midfield has been a big problem for years, now it’s suddenly our best part (but we could use a nr 8). I’d also like a new backup keeper (or two), one new CB, a winger and a striker.
  12. The lack of fitness is a real problem and worst of all, will take some time to repair.
  13. Yeah it was brilliant. It was also a first, he hasn’t really been able to dribble past people from standstill before.
  14. 100% agree, even though I believe things will begin to improve earlier.
  15. 4 days ago, it was the United players’ heads dropping when the third went in.
  16. Emery’s been here 10 days now and it’s possible for the players to learn what he wants will take a few more days.
  17. Against teams playing a high line opponents will play long balls. You have to be able to control it, if you can’t then don’t do it, but you don’t abandon the higher line just because the opponent tries to exploit it.
  18. I’m happy if Martinez plays against Brighton. Wouldn’t be surprised if he had some mystical niggle soon to avoid injury before the WC.
  19. Emery got to know his squad better. Not too bad performance overall, just some horrible defending and goalkeeping. We need a new backup keeper and a really good CB. Hopefully Carlos comes back and shines but we need more.
  20. Exactly this. With a high, or somewhat high, line the keeper must play further out and sweep.
