Quote from Beale after the game today:
”Today was a big indicator for me, I had to look into some players’ eyes and see where they are at”.
It wasn’t just Gerrard looking into players eyes then.
Some injury expert on Twitter saying it looks bad, really hope it’s not. Losing him for a potentially long period would be awful, Luiz/Kamara have the potential to do brilliant things.
Goalkeeper is probably the position where it’s most important to be 100% focused and Emi won’t be. The real issue here is that our backup is horrible and we should have registered a new backup keeper today, it’s Jan 1.
Feels like yesterday when I said we desperately need a new backup keeper? I’m more surprised Emi is back in the country already, wasn’t expecting him ro return before Easter. For him to get mentally ready could take a really long time though.
Today I guess we’ll press high and leave plenty of space behind for Spurs to counter attack, like when we got smashed 4-0 last time.
They signed a bunch of kids with a focus on talent in possession. Then they appointed a manager who prefers to sit deep and ping long balls towards Che.
City probably lost the title today. Haaland for all his brilliance hasn’t made the team any better, I’d say they’re less good now than they were last season. Having a prolific goal scorer apparently makes the team mates lazy.
The late subs were a bit strange, but Villa had a strong period right before their final goal so it might have been a case of if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Quite a few have been sacked already this WC so if Pep had been serious about going international he could have had his pick between Brazil, Spain and Belgium already.
There’s some truth in that, the game has developed enormously on the tactical level the last 10-15 years or so and Pep certainly has a lot to do with it.
A lot of people fail to see that change and end up looking like dinosaurs, like Gerrard. They think it’s still enough to have good players, be brave and fight.
