  1. Much better performance this time than last week. We were much the better team. Luiz and Kamara brilliant. JJ also a lot better today.
  2. Imagine if we were managed by Conte. He would have looked disgusted in the presser and repeated that Duran is a club signing and nothing else.
  3. Not really keen on anyone. Ramsey may be a bit young to handle the pressure, on the other hand he always finds the top corner.
  4. Southampton improved a lot lately and we were poor v Leeds. With them having home advantage my guess is they win 2-0.
  5. Still quite poor? 4 goals in 1800 minutes is equal to Watkins 3 goals in 1450 minutes (this season). But Lacazette also took penalties and only scored 2 non-penalty goals in those 1800 minutes. My point wasn't that Lacazette is crap, but Ligue 1 seems easy. Watkins could probably get good numbers there.
  6. That's also a reminder about the difference between leagues. At Lyon, Lacazette has 15 goal contributions in 19 games this season (11 goals). Last season Arsenal got rid of him because his numbers were awful (4 goals in 30 games).
  7. That about Digne probably comes from Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg (who's seen as fairly reliable). Someone writes something and then it spreads as fact.
  8. When we were 2-0 up at the Etihad and lost, at least we only conceded 3.
  9. I worry about that all the bloody time. Having Olsen as the only back-up is criminal.
  10. I like the fact he has his own bunker.
  11. I'm very confident we're getting at least one more forward this window. And if we don't, then I'm out the window (along with our PL status)
  12. There's Mousa Dembele born -86 who was at Spurs. Ousmane Dembele who was at Dortmund and now at Barcelona (star player) And Moussa Dembele (this one, currently Lyon).
  13. That's true, but Villarreal being a small club without much money probably played a part in that. Would he turn down highly rated players and prefer to go with those who failed elsewhere?
  14. West Ham need Ings to replace Mark Noble's hairstyle.
  15. Same goes for players. It's all a big poker game with people lying through their teeth, while at the same time trying to build their own personal brands. "I always wanted this club. It's such a big club with a great fanbase" A bit like a prostitute complimenting her customer on his organ really.
  16. The principle is correct, but I believe Ings was only here for 1.5 years so amortized about 9m or so. Selling for 15m should mean more or less breaking even for FFP calculations. Just as important when speaking of FFP is wages. Ings 120K per week is now off the books which leaves some wriggle room.
  17. If he has a release clause, which I’m sure he has, it was surely to get him to sign in the first place. Very much doubt the club insisted on it.
  18. Found an Everton page making an evaluation of Deolefeu after he left them. Sounds like he could fit right into our squad tbf "Sure, he does step overs, gets off SOME crosses (though many are repelled), and it looks really cool when he accelerates after standing straight up, BUT THAT’S IT! The team wins more when he isn’t on the field, and when you consider his attitude and body language, it’s a wonder he’s progessed this far. His tendency to stop the ball when he receives it also disrupts the timing of the attack and brings the team to a crawl, and when he loses it he doesn’t track back! His exasperation at poor passes, tendency to linger on the ground, and overall lack of interest in defending inhibit his growth as a player. Everton is not a team that is built to carry luxury players." https://royalbluemersey.sbnation.com/2017/2/6/14498316/just-how-good-was-gerard-deulofeu-everton-statistical-analysis-koeman-loan-ac-milan
  19. I'm seriously worried about this game. First, we were crap against Leeds. Second, the few attacking players we have may not be available.
  20. Similar fee, is the fee already set? I'd expect Deolefeu to be quite cheap at least, 10m or so?
  21. Pep said yesterday they’ll try to get Haaland more involved in the build-up. Must be an unusual feeling for Haaland, people have been praising him his whole career but now he’s already being singled out by some as the guy who is ruining the City winning machine.
  22. But seriously, I kind of like the idea of signing a kid from Colombia/MLS. That's exactly the type of signing Brighton do all the time. We can only hope our scouting is as good as theirs.
  23. Perfect signing in Duran Duran's hometown. Is he old enough to remember the 80's?
