If I had my choice of DM now I would probably go for Bissouma. This is partly because I haven't really seen the others play and I have a much better idea of what we would be getting from Bissouma and the PL experience is very appealing too.

As I said, I was excited when I first heard the link but the more I read about him my excitement is waning. He isn't sounding as the player I think we want at the moment.

I agree, it is more than one player, but as per my post above, I just think a really good DM should be a big help in scrapping the extra few points needed

Yeah, but I think a DM would have more influence on a team that playing poorly to a Jack style player. It is easy for a Jack to get isolated in a poor team but a worldie DM should be in the thick of things

If he is that good why are they in a relegation battle . I haven't really seen this guy play and I was excited when we were linked. The PR behind him is very good. But the more I read about him the more I want to steer clear. If he is that good and is only 7m then why haven't a big team snapped him up

I would say it is just a cheap insurance policy. We may never see him play but it is safer to have him than not

Yeah, this really is a high class problem discussion. It is only a very short time ago that we were getting the likes of Grabban on loan and signing Gestede and Taylor. We are now in the land of Emi 1, Emi 2, Coutinho, Bailey, Ings, Buendia and Digne. If we keep this trajectory then we absolutely will become top 4 in the next 5 to 10 years

There is an argument that buying Jack for 100m actually strengthens us rather than weakens us. It helps us massively with FFP as we have a huge profit to record and gives us greater leverage in the transfer market. Would we have Ings, Buendia, Bailey, Digne and Coutinho now if we hadn't sold Jack?

The top 6 do not try to keep each other in the top 6. It would be in any of the club's interest for another club to get into the top 6 and push a more established side out of the top 6 as it would make CL qualification a little easier. Most PL clubs, and Villa is a prime example, want to improve their position in the league.

It was mentioned earlier and most put it down to fake news. It probably is fake but I the fee is in the region of what I would expect from my readings on it. But he apparently wants massive wages and Champions League football. It would be lovely to get him, maybe Gerrard can do his magic but I expect him to leave for a free in the summer with a very large sign on bonus and a massive salary
