  1. Just look at VT every week. The ref is against us, sky is against us, we were unlucky, they were lucky etc. There is a constant lack of critical thinking. It just makes us sound like a small club and takes us down to the level of Baggies and Blues
  2. It will be when Bissouma is in the team
  3. Big Dunc paid for everyones first drink at Goodison. The stadium will be rocking. Smart idea to get the fans onside
  4. New manager bounce is not related to the new manager having different training methodologies etc or necessarily being a better manager. It comes from the uplift in atmosphere in the team with the old manager having got the sack. It breathes a little life into the team and players often up their individual performances. I think the worst possible manager for Everton (from a Villa perspective) is Big Dunc. He has motivation and pride in the Everton shirt, he will give the players a rocket up the ass and they will put in a good performance. Ideally we would have played Everton after Dunc had about 3 or 4 games and the team realised that his coaching skills are crap and they then get pissed with the club for not getting a proper manager in by then
  5. FFP rules have changed significantly since Man City got money. It is a completely different challenge to to that now
  6. I'd love to see them relegated and sell the club back to Ashley at a massive loss and just give up on the idea of getting a PL club and go buy a club elsewhere. There would be a nice meltdown on Tyneside
  7. DCM for me is the priority over a CB but I would like to see a big spend on a CB in the summer, unless we make 2 big signings this month
  8. The rules have been changed since City signed their stadium, it can no longer happen. FFP is definitely a thing!
  9. I agree that the FFP and spending will hurt them and set them back. But the impact of that will be felt by the teams in the lower half of the PL table. It won't bother Man Utd. At some stage in the future Toon will be competitive at the top end of the table and it is just something Man u will have to live with. But those days will be quite a few years in the future imo
  10. He certainly has bright patches but he is terribly inconsistent
  11. It will potentially set them back a bit but in the scheme of things it won't impact Man Utd. A year in the Championship to get their management team in place, get a Dir of Football and improve facilities could be of benefit to them. They would come up stronger and be a more appealing club to new players
  12. In fairness, it is a safe bet to say Toon are interested but the player won't sign for them. So there is at least one other PL club interested
  13. I really hope for an exciting last day of the window where we sign a surprise player that is considered a coup for Villa. Our last day of a transfer window are always boring. I want to be excited. Yes, this is very childish but I was always jealous of other clubs pulling one out of the bag just before the window closes
  14. I agree, in 10 to 20 years they will be competing with Man Utd. But next season the will not and selling players to Newcastle now won't make any difference to Man Utd. If they can screw Toon out of silly amounts of cash then they would be daft not to do so
  15. Finally we have a pic with a player that is taller than Lange. Well done Emi
  16. We have spent about 450m on players in the last 3 years and we are midtable. Toon cannot spend the amount of money they would need to in order to compete. They will also most likely go through a few managers in the next few years
  17. Top dollar is fine, but it must be at market rate. They can't get a sponsorship deal worth multiples of say Man Utd's sponsorship deals
  18. They have been changed, any sponsorship must be at market rate. Also, and I can't understand why so many people miss this point. PIF is not Newcastle United. Newcastle is NOT the richest club in the world. PIF has many other investments too
  19. Stadium sponsor etc must be at market rate, FFP will come into play. Newcastle is not a bottomless pit of money to be thrown about. PIF has lots of money but so to do NSWE. They have about 13Bn, there is a limit to how much can be spent on players and wages and that limit is certainly within NSWE's reach
  20. Not a hope in hell will Toon be competing for top 4 next season if they stay up. Toon competing at the top is quite a few years away. They still have to comply with FFP and can't spend infinite amounts of money. I don't see Toon's financial muscle in the transfer window and stronger than Villa's
  21. What is the big business sense? It wouldn't make any difference to Man Utd if Newcastle stay up
  22. We lost Axel, who replaces him? If Mings, Konsa or Hause gets an injury that keeps them out for a few weeks or more, what CB is on the bench?
  23. What's the bigger picture? Utd are an established top team in the PL. Newcastle is not a threat to them regardless whether the are relegated or not. Newcastle do not have endless money to spend, they, like the rest of us need to comply with FFP. If Toon offer Utd decent money for Lingard they would be idiots not to take it
  24. Lots of talk linking Newcastle with Targett. If we could get 20m for Targett and replace him with Digne (25m) and Hickey (10m), that would be a serious coup by Lange et al. It would also be nice to take their first choice LB (Digne) and rip them off with our cast off
