Was the topic not about the pace of Italian football as Bentancur plays in Italy and the argument was that the Italian national team has many players playing in Italy and hence the suggestion that the pace of Italian football was not a valid measure of where he would be good or bad?

Mancini took over the Italian national team that had just failed to qualify for the world cup. The reason they were one of the favourites for the Euros was because of how Mancini got them playing football

No misery about the 2nd half. Just reflecting on our performance. Yes we kept a clean sheet and got 3 points but against a team with a more clinical finisher they would have scored. I would prefer that we don't offer the opponent's an opportunity to score than relying on their poor finishing

I would pay more than 50m for him but there are other considerations. If we are sailing close to FFP and if spending in excess of 50m on Bissouma takes budget away from buying a top class CB then I would probably look for an alternative. It is impossible to say what we should spend on him without knowing the details of our financials but as a player, I think Bissouma is worth more than 50m

25m sounds a little on the low side for Bissouma. I appreciate that it was Newcastle but Chris Wood, aged 30 and with 3 goals in the PL this season just cost 25m

And NSWE would be again improving the local area for the community. It would be much more entertaining to go to the local open air market to buy some fake Nike clothes at 3 o'clock on a Saturday than going to watch Blues try to play football.

If Ings is better at getting in behind and Ollie is better at pressing, does that suggest that neither Ings nor Ollie are the right strikers for Villa and we should be looking for upgrades?

NSWE should buy Blues. Rename them Aston Villa B Team and we could blood all our up and coming players in the lower league. If the FA complain about us having two teams we could just level the stadium and build and Aldi or a Lidl there.

After a baby it is normal to close up shop, it takes a little time for things to return to normal and hormones level out a little and then he will be back on the saddle.

I have discovered if u push the button the other way the volume goes up. This is really useful when the Mrs is asking you to do stuff when u are trying to listen to SSN. You are able to turn the volume up loud enough to drown out the Mrs nagging. Brilliant invention

I am not taking the piss here. But a strong DCM on the pitch would have made a huge difference in the 2nd half. We allowed all the pressure on our defence and couldn't keep them at bay. A DCM would give us that extra bit of breathing space

Even the best ref's will make the odd incorrect decision. Today, he annoyed me in the first half as I think he could have let the game flow a little better. But with regard to the key decisions he got them all right and the result wasn't influenced by poor referring. To me that is the key barometer for the performance of a ref.

I am with u on trusting Gerrard and the team to get the right man in, if we buy him I will obviously support him. I just wouldn't be over the moon with him though. If we signed Bissouma or Kamara I would be a very happy bunny and I wouldn't need to rely on my trust of the team buying players

I know we all love Emi1, the best GK we have had in a long time and we have spent way too much on dross GKs over the last 6 years or so. The time wasting from him is really starting to irk me, I would like if he stopped doing this

The big positive I get from this thread is that we are apparently interested in a no6. It does look like a constant theme this window so I am hopeful we will land one before the window shuts. I don't know this guy but there looks to be a few too many negatives for me to get excited.
