  1. I know. He is the answer to the question. What is the biggest ever waste of 40m.
  2. I hate to admit the child is coming out in me and I would find it absolutely hilarious
  3. HaHa, you would would have got very good odds at the start of the season on Leeds and Everton going down. That would be funny
  4. Woy will do well at Watford and is cute enough to keep them up. Toon looking safe too. If they both stay up it means that Everton or Leeds will need to join the Championship
  5. Boreham Wood is a tough draw for Everton by the looks of them tonight.
  6. If Wilson was fit the Toon would be out of sight in this game
  7. Dele Alli: not the way to get onside with the fans
  8. The media earn a significant portion of their revenue through advertising. Stories that are popular will get more media attention as they attract more viewers and thus more revenue. Newcastle is currently popular. The attention they are getting is to be expected
  9. I agree with that as a team strategy but I think the overall club strategy is still in place, it is just Gerrard has persuaded them to get a few players with a little more experience. And I agree, the experience of players like Digne and Coutinho is something the club hasn't had and will greatly benefit us. I can't help but think that Jack left at the wrong. I don't mean from a Villa perspective but from his career development perspective. He would have learned so much in our current team while been given the game time to flourish. But, if he hadn't left our squad would be nowhere near as strong as it is now
  10. I agree with that 100%, we must make ourselves sustainable
  11. The economics is that a sunk cost is a cost that is not recoverable. Selling a player can recover the cost of acquisition, therefore it is not a sunk cost. Regarding selling a player, yes I agree there are many factors to consider but the purchase price of the player is not gone. There is a difference between cashflow and profit & loss. Cashflow is not a concern for a well funded business like AVFC. Profit and loss is what is important and not just from an FFP perspective but also from a business perspective. Selling a player before he is fully amortised means that the money is not already gone, it is in future accounts.
  12. I disagree with that. The strategy at Villa is stated to buy players that we can improve and add value to. If the club regards player acquisition costs as sunk then the club cannot become sustainable, we need to be able to trade players to be profitable
  13. He turned the game for us. Did u watch the game? It was an amazing cameo, he lit up the pitch and was the centre of everything good while he was on the pitch
  14. I would not be so sure, apparently Ings is very excited about Bailey's potential too as he feels that the two of them will work well together and it will help him to push Ollie to the bench
  15. Is that meant to substantiate that he was garbage?
  16. How can he have a chin like a heavy weight world champion boxer and if u breeze past the rest of him he is out injured for 8 weeks. Hopefully the new Lukaku looking Davis has got past his injury woes
  17. I think a P45 will be winging its way in the post too
  18. Watching the game I think Keinan went over to protect his team mates, I don't think he was stupid enough (but very close to it) to go for Keinan. Our boy stuck is arm out defending the other players and the Leicester idiot's fist hit his arm and diverted towards KD's face.
  19. I think it impacts Chelsea more than anyone else
  20. There is. It reduces by 2 each year for the next 4 years (I think) my understanding is that it doesn't apply to youth players, only senior player
  21. If Forest get promoted we could push for a fair bit more than that providing he finishes the season well and injury free
