Its the rule though, it is not about passing the ball to Benzema, it is being in control of the ball when u 'pass' it. I am not disagreeing it should be a goal, I think it should. But the offside rule allows for deflections. How a deflection is defined is anybodies guess -

Before it hit the first Liverpool is came from a RM player, they are saying that hitting the 2 Liverpool players were deflections in the same passage of play

The big problem with VAR is that in these situations where it is difficult to determine the intent or the rule or the offside or whatever, the benefit of doubt should always be given to the attacking team imo

It slow mo it does look like a deflection which would mean offside

Yeah, I agree with u on that, he slid in to try and get the ball and his knee passed it to Benzema, to me that is not a deflection

It is still offside if the ball that comes off the Liverpool player is a deflection, which is why I assume they gave it offside

This game is an example of how a Ref and VAR should work to keep the game flowing. Other than the dodgy camera work, it is mush more enjoyable

The rugby European Champions Cup was in France earlier today with 62k people and there wasn't a problem at it. It is football fans cause problems. Look at the Euro final in Wembley too

So they had very little time to organise it and it is being reported that thousands turned up without tickets and u are complaining they delayed the kickoff. What would the Russians have done? Shoot to kill?

Licensing, they will not be allowed to broadcast their own coverage, they can only broadcast the footage they purchased
