  1. I don't think Villa will have too many problems getting the right contact at Brighton and agreeing a price if we want the player and if Brighton are willing to sell. If we are both interested in signing Bissouma it will come down to which club offers the more appealing overall package to Bissouma.
  2. TBH, I don't think they would give a **** who they sell him to as long as they get the price they are looking for.
  3. Tammy would obviously been a better buy that Wes but who knows how he would have turned out if that **** Mee didn't do what he did. But I think Tammy would have been a lot more expensive too
  4. Yes, they did have our trousers down with Mings.
  5. There are always other players any within England and abroad. They may be more of a risk to Davis from a footballing perspective but they could offer greater reward too. The bottom line is that if Forest walk away from a transfer for Davis the odds are we will be stuck with him and may have to loan him to the Championship again next season. Forest will be very aware of this
  6. What I read is that Villa has set the price for Davis at 15m. It is all just BS speculation. A minimum price a club set for a player will be ultra confidential between Purslow and Lange and Gerrard. It will not get leaked unless the club is trying to up the price with another bidder, and even then the actual minimum price that is leaked will likely be increased for the leak
  7. Fans suggesting that 15m is the bare minimum know little about negotiation and sales. Yes, you have to have the right product to sell and in the case of Forest and Davis the match is correct. However, if no other clubs are interested in Davis at a bare minimum of 20m then that weakens our position. If we could refuse 15m from Forest knowing that another club would pay 20m that would be great but there is no chance of that happening. Forest will know this and will negotiate accordingly
  8. If you are anything like your photo I think he may prefer you to treat him to a Happy Meal
  9. It is a bit of a daft debate trying to suggest that Kamara signed for Villa or didn't sign for Villa for one single reason. There are many things a player will weight up before signing and they each contribute to the decision. Money and Premier league are huge influencing factors. Gerrard was a positive influencing factor in why Kamara signed. There is no denying that.
  10. I think the signing on fee is generally added to the wages and paid annually while the player is still at the club. The 175k a week will in all likelihood be the full annual payments divided by 52 and as such include the signing on fee. I would say he is nearer 110k/120k a week in wages which keeps our wage structure and the uplift to 175k is signing on. As u say, much better deal that Phillips if we consider the player are on a par
  11. He wouldn't get his game for us, not as good as what we have. All clubs say it but Gerrard is genuinely buying players that improve upon what we have. Ox doesn't fit into that category
  12. Slight correction 'Coutinho and Kamara' It is unbelievable business by our transfer team. A step up from Drinkwater and Samatta
  13. We are very lucky with Davis and Forest. Its a bit like we were with Mings. They are nearly forced into paying a premium for him. That turned out to be a brilliant loan for Villa, Forest and Davis. A few more of these type of loans would be great for Villa
  14. The Belfry is next to one of the best training facilities in world football
  15. Maybe on the sale price but we would make a very big accounting profit. We bought Mings 3 years ago and have already amortised a large portion of the fee, probably about 15m, so we would only have about 7m/8m left to pay for him. If we sold him for 30m that would be a 22m profit this year. Add that to 10m for Davis and our FFP position is looking a lot stronger. The better we make our FFP the more we can invest in players in future windows. Hopefully we will get a good top half finish this year and I would like to see us be in a position to buy an 80m+ striker next summer. The way to do that is to sell players that make profit for the club. It would also help Purslow and NSWE with future investment as they can see that we are capable of generating revenue too
  16. 10m marked as profit on our accounts is significant and is far better than just keeping him out on loan. Also, why would we want a sell on or buy back clause, these just reduce the purchase of a player. We should just maximise the financial return now as opposed to gamble money on Davis becoming injury free and making it as a PL footballer
  17. I don't get the love in for keeping Davis. As CarryOn has said, the guys is 24 and hasn't improved and we should sell him. If he wasn't our player how many of us would be happy to see Gerrard buy him for 10m? I expect nobody.
  18. You can probably add Coutinho, Kamara and Carlos to that list too
  19. I think Johnstone will go to a team as first choice GK, I can't see him wanting a return to Villa as number 2
  20. Some potential money to be made on this race. Vettel 250/, Ocan 500/1. This could be a lottery
  21. Would love this too. Not just for the extra cash for Villa, I would like it for him too.
  22. I had to Google who the kid is but 34 games in Championship as a 19 year old CB is impressive. Conceding 87 goals and relegation not so impressive.
