  1. I am absolutely with u on that Paul. I so so so much want that
  2. Luiz, Nakamba, McGinn and Sanson are not good enough as a 6. If we lose Kamara that would put us back to last year's frailties. Tim is the man in waiting as the 6 but he doesn't have enough experience to be relied upon if Kamara is out. He may be able to do the job but I would not like to have to rely on him to step up to the mark in order for us to have a shot at 7th
  3. Sangare can play both 6 and 8 and we need someone like this to cover for Kamara if he gets injured imo
  4. Bloody hell, so it really is happening. Well done OldVillan
  5. Whooosssshhhh! That sound that u hear when the point of the comment flies past without you getting it
  6. But OldVillan is not a keyboard warrior and in fairness you were not to know this as you are a new poster to VT. Just take in on the chin and move on and don't try to justify it
  7. Okay, so we should improve this year, this I agree with. But u now believe it is because we under performed last year and not because of our spend, that make sense. Getting 7th last year was not an option with our squad regardless who our manager was. We were fragile in defence, very weak in midfield and our strikers are not prolific enough. On top of that we changed manager mid season so 7th is just complete nonsense. I too would like us to get 55+ points and I think we have a shout at that. But attributing spend to league improvement is really a little silly when the quality of our manager is your issue.
  8. He is still feeling sorry for himself for losing to Kerry in the final last week
  9. Are u aware that other club's expenditure also goes up? Would it not me more sensible to compare our expenditure against other clubs and then look to see if we improve. If we spend 10m and the clubs around us all spend 50m do you think we should improve? I think an arbitrary assertion that if we increase spend it should mean a rise in league table position is just missing the bigger picture a little.
  10. Hopefully we will have something go down to the wire. I have always hoped for Villa to be the focus of attention on Sky during the last few hours of deadline day. Yes, I know it is a fairly pathetic thing to want and it is better for the club to get the players in early but I would enjoy a little excitement.
  11. The club shop will sell me a number 9 shirt and stick Ings on it if I pay for it.
  12. That the transfer window is still open for Villa ?
  13. He had a 6 month loan at Atletico and played a total of 95 minutes over 5 appearance. I am not sure that is enough time to judge the guys ability to be fair. And yes, my mistake, he didn't score in the PL. But he has a goal involvement (goal or assist) across his full professional career. That is very good for a professional footballer. Edit: a goal involvement in 59% of games
  14. Dembele has 147 goals and 45 assists in 323 games. In his 88 mins of Premier League football he has 2 goals. That sort of scoring record would be good enough for Villa I suspect
  15. I wanted Dembele to sign for Villa when he left Fulham on a free and went to Celtic. Everton apparently interested in Terrier.
  16. How quickly things can change in football. Only a few hours ago I read on here that he isn't signing a contract and he is leaving Villa next summer. Hopefully Percy is more ITK than VT posters
  17. Sangare and Kaen on loan with promotion of kids would make me happy
  18. That was not the intention, I think it would be maybe a factor to keep him here. Before Doug, her partner was one of the Chelsea WSL team players. I am sure Doug is very understanding and if Alisha ever wants to have her friends around for a glass of vino or a pillow fight they will be more than welcome.
  19. She is also open about the fact that she likes women too...
  20. I think you are giving way too much influence to a professional football's choice of where to live and work on his girlfriend. Particularly so for a young Brazil international who has moved from Brazil to England to Spain and back to England during his career to date
  21. Girlfriends stopping players leaving is not something that happens very often, I can't see this as an issue. Furthermore, why would it prevent him leaving this summer and not prevent him leaving next summer when u expect him to leave? Yes, a player can make more money on a free but if the right club come in and we accept a low fee then he would likely get a good sign on fee and he is going to be on high wages with the leverage that in 12 months time he can go elsewhere for more. There is also a huge element of risk running down a contract, a bad injury and it could backfire hugely.
  22. I know we can't foresee injuries but we can have backup in the event the occur. DM was a big weakness for us last year and if we lost Kamara I would be concerned it have the same impact on the team. I am not sure if Sanson has played DM before but just thinking, Chambers has played DM for Fulham and got their player of the season on the back of a season as DM so maybe we are covered
  23. I would like to see another player come in that can play DM, if Kamara gets injured our team starts to look like last it has year's weaknesses very quickly
