  1. The 'super computer' has us finishing 7th. I can live with anywhere between 4th and 7th
  2. Its not linguistics, its the meaning in the context of the post. Big difference.
  3. I like Ndidi but I assumed he was past it from the purpose of a big transfer. Just googled him and he is only 25. He seems to have be around for a lot longer than his age suggests
  4. With Archer staying at Villa this season I expect we will not be signing another striker. Assuming no key departures, does that mean we are only potentially looking for another CM
  5. Deciding how he will spend his money on the club is a lot different to 'getting by'. As I said, it is elective and not down to owner's wealth
  6. That is the big question but just like you don't know, Gerrard doesn't know either. It is only after giving Cam a chance to succeed or fail that we will know.
  7. I kind of agree, if we are in the top 6 or 7 and scoring lots of goals and Can is not playing then that will be okay with me
  8. I haven't seen any media that published forecasts have us outside the top 10. I have even seen 6th and I have seen a 14% chance of top 4. Have you actually seen any media predictions of forecasted finishing places? What media is predicting us outside of the top 10?
  9. The owner of Brighton is worth 1.3 Billion, that is 1 thousand three hundred million pounds. Will you stop that nonsense about having to 'get by'. Brighton has revenues of circa 150m a year. Their spend is completely elective and is not constrained by owner's wealth.
  10. I really don’t understand the logic there. How you can make the first two assertions followed by ‘which is why’, it is just doesn’t make logical sense
  11. I think the main reason is that the club was extremely organised and proactive and got the majority of our business done really early so as to allow players to bed in to AVFC and Brum and get a good pre season. I think other purchases this window will be opportunistic ‘bargains’ towards the end of the window
  12. I think the next few months will address most of our concerns with SG. Coming in half way through a season was a free pass but he now has had a pre season and a successful window. We need to see improvement in style and approach to games. If we lose or draw a few more than I would like I can handle that if I see the team playing the right way and I he right tactics etc. it is very difficult to illicit exactly what I mean by improvement as only my eyes and emotions can answer this. If I don’t see this I will be calling for his head and a new manager, but until he has a chance to prove me wrong I will give him my full support.
  13. Will you stop talking sense on a football forum
  14. Saying it is bad management not having El Ghazi in the squad But some people, correct me if I am wrong, like you did not want Gerrard as u have concerns. However, u are giving him a chance and if he failed then he should be sacked. Others just make up any old crap to try and justify why Gerrard should not be manager. There is nothing wrong with having concerns and voicing them, that is what a forum is for. I have concerns about Gerrard too. But there is a lot of BS anti Gerrard just because who he is
  15. More than a handful and not just VT. I am surprised how many people are parochially anti Liverpool
  16. I don’t think Brighton will finish as high this year, so if we finish below Brighton I think gerrard will be long gone. The WC break should see a few managers sacked. It will be an ideal time to sack a manager given that he will have about 8 weeks without a game (or WC players) to work with the players on the training pitch. Normally managers go around the Oct international break but I think this will be pushed to the middle of Nov
  17. I agree, the expectation at Villa is extremely high and it doesn't give us much wiggle room whatsoever. This year is going to be particularly difficult for Gerrard and the team. We have had a decent pre season, much better than last year and we are in good shape for the upcoming campaign. Our fans expectations will put added pressure on the players and they won't want to give them time to bed in as a team. On top of that there is a large anti Gerrard faction that will be looking to jump on anything to try and highlight why is not the right man for Villa. So there will be a lot of extra unneeded pressure on the team and this place on match day will be caustic at times
  18. Or put another way, in the 3 seasons since 2016 that we have both been in the PL they finished ahead of us twice and we finished ahead of them once.
  19. And Hourihane is still proving it, didn't he score against Oxford United in League 1 on Saturday. Wes scoring for Levante too. Trez sent to Turkey for peanuts. These guys could be ripping it up in the PL
  20. Their main man for scouting left about 6 months ago to join Newcastle. The prospect list may not be up to its usual standard
  21. Yeah, he may have the foresight to bring ElGhazi back into the first team.
