    I agree, finishing top 6 is not easy by any means but it is a realistic target for a club, not for Villa this season but I would think in the 24/25 season if we have the right manager we should be pushing for top 6 with the caveat that NSWE and Purslow are still in place

    I can have a look again, maybe I made an error but I did say the last 10 and I do recall that when I looked up the table I was surprised that Newcastle and Everton finished in the top 6 for the 1st 2 years I looked at. So assuming I made a mistake and u are right on the count of 5 times, that is still 5 times in 10 seasons, so 50% of the time a team has finished in the top 6 that isn't one of the top 6. The point of my comment was to refute the idea that it is impossible to finish top 6.

    I think more chance of losing Fofana but it could be that they lose both. Could be a long tough season for them

    The BR presser was depressing. No signings coming in, he doesn't want to sell Fofana or Madisson but ultimately the decision is up to the club. He respects the position the club is in and is focusing on working with the players he has.

    Its only about 40m more than Maguire cost. Fofana and Cucurella are both excellent players and both young. I think it is good business. Better value than Jack for 100m

    One of the most important things I use to judge a footballer's quality is his first touch. Unfortunately, Ollie doesn't have a good enough first touch imo.

    It was tempting not to read past the deduction that scoring more goals than xG suggests luck but I persevered I agree he may not suit a Gerrard team, hence why I said in the right team and with the right manager but I also believe be he is technically a better player to Watkins. I think if we played to his strengths he could be brilliant for us. As regards not getting any faster with age, I think that is something that can be applied to all players, including Ollie who is older than Werner

    Football isn’t all about stats. Some judge it with their eyes. I think Werner is a much better player to Watkins. He needs to be played properly and he needs a run of game imo. I watched him at RBL and we was unreal he was so good. The right team and the right manager and Werner will look world class. Ollie will never look world class although he is very good
