    Which would be better from a team perspective? Getting another CM to help Kamara or replacing Carlos. Long term, probably another player to kelp Kamara but for this season I think a replacement for Carlos

    We need to play 11 players in a formation that will get us wins. We are down our 1st choice CB. It was suggested we get Sarr. All I did was highlight that if we got Sarr it would give us flexibility to play Boubs at CB. Yes, that would be at a cost to the midfield but arguably it would also be a benefit to our defence. That is an option we would have if we got Sarr. Depending on the game it may be better for the team to play Boubs as a no6 or Boubs as a CB. It is not an ideal situation but that is because we have just lost our 1st choice CB to a serious injury

    When u have a serious injury to a key player it may be necessary to paper over the cracks. If we had Sarr, he would arguable be an improvement on our no 6 from last season and Boubs would be available as a CB. We could switch our CBs around a bit and we could even swap Boubs and Chambers midgame. It would gives us options to cope with losing Carlos. It is not ideal but an option. The ideal is we will get a direct replacement for Carlos

    Not a bad shout but I don't really like getting young players in on loan and developing them for other clubs. I would prefer an older CB if it was a loan that has proven himself at club level and maybe slipped down the pecking order as the club now have better available

    I hate when I have to Google players linked with us because I have never heard of them. Big lad and good age.

    When I say 'spend again', I don't mean it has to be a permanent signing, it could be a loan. I think we absolutely need to replace Carlos as a priority, for exactly the same reasons purchasing Carlos was a priority. There is always better quality available, it is just down to getting the finances to work.

    Why do u think that? We already made the decision that we needed a new CB this season, hence we bought Carlos. Now he is gone the need to a CB returns. So unless we have zero funds available I would be surprised if we didn't get a replacement

    It is nice to read a positive post. It beats the we are not signing anyone, we are crap, Gerrard is crap, we are doomed and there is no hope for us. I guess some people look on life positively and others look for opportunities to make the most of whatever cards they are dealt

    On a positive he would fit in well with our other defenders and probably wouldn't take long to get up to speed

    Apparently there was talk of him being offered to Fulham, salary rumoured to be 2m a year, talk about going to Torino. He was on loan at Celtic when he was younger and got young player of the year and is 27, so I assume he can speak English. Signing him on a permie would probably not be too much more than the cost of a loan deal.

    I agree with a replacement defender, I would like a new midfielder and I don't think we need a new striker (unless we sell Ings or Ollie) as we have kept Archer
