  1. They just got a new manager that knows what he is doing. The will get better and better under EtH
  2. They are only going to get better under EtH, it will take him a bit of time but they will be a force again with him at the helm
  3. We need a CB and if he is not getting his game at Utd and with the WC coming up he may be an option for Gerrard
  4. On my TV and without my glass (can't find them) it looks like Leeds are playing
  5. Is Purslow hanging in there for a compo payment form Liverpool rather than a payoff to Gerrard?
  6. I would, never liked his style but he had a good couple of years with West Ham
  7. Its more bed wettting by fans rather than panic stations. The belief in the odd tweet that says something is up there with what would be expected from a 5 year old. Top Tip: Not everything on Twitter is true
  8. It wouldn't even be Gerrard's decision whether to sell him or not. That would be Lange and Purslow. Gerrard can say he doesn't want him in the first team if he wants but he doesn't have the call on selling. Not that that matters as Gerrard said he wants him at Villa. What is your source for Gerrard considering selling him?
  9. We would then all be in full agreement that we never wanted him in the first place and Purslow only got him in because he is Phil's mate. Poch OUT! (I think I am probably the first to call for his sacking )
  10. The big downside of getting Poch in as manager would be the harmony on VT, the divide in opinion encourages some robust debate
  11. He was very good at Spurs too and got them CL football and didn't he have a summer without any transfers coming in
  12. Clearly we can't send Gerrard to Poch's house to explain the project and convince him to join us as manager, maybe we could send Phil and Purslow on this mission
  13. We should do what suits AVFC. We shouldn't care what way other clubs operate. It is very poor business to let emotions impact decision making.
  14. To get some value from a potential sale. There are no guarantees with things like this.
  15. I had forgotten that completely, that's potentially beneficial.
  16. Personally, I would rate Potter higher than Rodgers. i also don't see why we can't get Poch, but it would cost us. I hope Purslow has his ph number as I would hate to think of him waiting by the phone and Purslow thinking he wished he had Poch's ph number
  17. We can't not employee someone because we are afraid he will leave, we need to employ the absolute best possible and then it is Purslow's job to make sure he can realise all of his ambitions at Aston Villa
  18. We are talking about the club being on an upward trajectory and not the league position. They are very different things. Attracting the right manager requires the club to be on an upward trajectory and generally speaking, requires the league position to be on a downward trajectory, otherwise why would a club be looking for a new manager. Yes, u can have managers leave for pastures greener but in general it will be when a club is doing badly that they replace a manager.
  19. It is looking like SG is walking on much thinner ice this season compared to last season. He got the backing and he has had time with the players. He really needs to start putting in some commanding performances on the pitch. I am sure there are many managers out there making sure their CV is up to date as the Villa job is a sought after one. There are probably only about 6 other jobs in English football that could offer better than what Villa is offering a new manager in terms of support and facilities. The vultures will start circling and the agents will start contacting Villa.
  20. On what basis? What more could we do to show we are on an upward trajectory? I am at a loss as to what we can do to demonstrate that other than sacking Gerrard and getting a higher profile manager in
  21. What clubs have sacked 2 managers in the space of 12 months? Spurs & Watford are the ones that spring to mind. Spurs are showing the ambition to not just compete in the PL but to try and win the Champions League and Premier League and to become a dominant force in world football. Watford, for all the crazy churn of managers, cannot be denied that they are very ambitious to establish themselves in the PL. I think both are showing upward trajectory.
  22. In the good old days that meant you had about 4 or 5 days lefty before u got the boot
