    I agree that we have to spent within reason and we have to work within FFP guidelines. Just a small point though. We are actually in a 4 year FFP window as the two Covid years are taken as one and averaged out. Also, we are allowed to have Covid related losses which are not negatively counted towards FFP. And lastly, and probably most importantly. From next season, our wage bill can only be 90% of revenue and the limit will drop by 10% each until it reaches 70% of revenue.

    There are lots of comments suggesting different managers would and would not come to Villa and saying 'why would he join us' There are lots of reasons and it is really simple. 1. Aston Villa Football Club is massive and has massive heritage 2. We have Billionaire owners that are making major investment in the club 3. We have world class facilities for training 4. We have a 42k seater stadium and extending to 52k 5 We are the biggest club in Birmingham by miles 6. We have a squad of very talented players 7. We have excellent youth training setup 8. Our owners are setting up another Villa in the MLS, increasing brand value and reputation 9. Doris the tea lady is without question the best in the business The idea that we could not attract Potter is lunacy. The only thing that would keep Potter at Brighton is if he has a personal connection with the club

    I don't think we have had any offers. I am a bit surprised we haven't sold Guilbert. Wasn't he in the team of the year for French League season just on and I am guessing he would only be about 5m and his wages would be affordable.

We are discussing players and proper options for Villa, we are discussing loaning the lad from Saints I know feck all about that is definitely dividing opinions and there is no vitriol. We should ban any talk about Gerrard and Deano on VT, the place is better without it

    Yep, he said it was first thought to be benign and then further test showed it was malignant. Must be a awful to go through that, particularly so as a young and very fit man

    I don't know much about him but 6 goals and 2 assists last season doesn't exactly say really good signing for a striker and doesn't suggest a 54m fee but age is on his side so he could come good

    I like his age (26) and pedigree. Dortmund and PSG for 30m suggests there is something good about the lad and 8m seems like small change in today's market.

    @JAMAICAN-VILLAN Just checked and they bough Vertergaard and Bertrand the summer after they put 9 past Saints and they both started the game for Saints. On a side note, Bednarek also started for Saints in the 9-0 loss

    Our star striker is either Callum Robinson or Scott Hogan and we have Hourihane sitting in behind them. I would love the feeling of hope

    Unfortunately, Kane did a Grealish and Declan Rice and elected to play for the wrong national team imo
