  1. Well, its not going to be 0-0, I suspect 3-1 to Utd but would love a 2-1 to us
  2. Chelsea playing a GK, 8 defensive players and 2 strikers. May not be that exciting afterall
  3. Nor have we seen the performance of the ref yet
  4. Some of the comments on here is like reading a Baggies forum or SHA forum. All they do is moan about how unlucky they are, blame the ref, whinge at the commentators etc and they can't see what is happening in the actual game. We need to go to O/T and beat them on the football pitch and some acting like a small team that looks to blame everything else but our performance.
  5. He does have a point, the third penalty claim was a clear penalty. Whether OGS has a point or not has nothing to do with the history lesson
  6. Have u ever seen any manager complain when they get a dodgy penalty or dodgy VAR or even when goal line tech failed to work when they are the beneficiary?
  7. His performance has put the final nail in the coffin for Davis. I can't see him ever playing for Villa again and he will be gone in the summer
  8. That's not quite true. Er clearly wanted to win the game but not at all cost. We are clearly concentrating on the league and using a strong a side as we can in the Carabao while managing the team for the league. For example, I would have liked to see Martinez in goal but it is the one position on the field where we have little strength in depth. I expect Steer will be 1st choice for the FA Cup and Martinez will be protected to mitigate any risk of injury. Further, DS will be trying to give younger players some experience so that he can possibly use them for the priority competition i.e. the League. I am sure Archer DS will be much more comfortable bringing Archer on in a PL game now that he has played a competitive game against PL opposition, albeit in a Cup game. It is a very simplistic and narrow view to state we didn't want to win, there are other factors to consider which as our Head Coach, Smith needs to consider
  9. Don't know how you can determine that. The previous season Frank did an amazing job getting Chelsea into the top 4 with a transfer ban on the club. He brought on a lot of the young players very well too. He got Derby to the Playoff final but obviously lost that and he has managed Mount from a kid on loan in the Championship to an full English international.
  10. I think he would be in the first XI of any team in the bottom half of the PL and probably with a hefty pay rise. Keeping him will cost us a few quid I suspect
  11. Yep, a good guy to keep but he may be looking for some more 1st team football. He was a bit of a bargain purchase, I think we was only a small bit over 2m
  12. Yeah, it is less flattering to Frank but it just shows that it was down to the manager to make the improvement. It is very rare to see such a massive improvement in results and performance with the same set of players. This is why he gets the plaudits that he gets imo
  13. It is probably because he instantly transformed a team from leaking goals and not scoring enough at the other end into a team with a rock solid defence and scoring more goals. He managed to qualify for the Champions League via league position and he won the Champions League. These did not look like happening with Frank as manager. It can be reasonably deduced that TT was the reason for the very rapid improvement
  14. the same last week, they needed to bring Jorginho on at H/T. It really is a positive sign and shows how far DS has brought us in the last few years
  15. It is rare to find anyone that doesn't show support for Smith on VT. Yes, there are a few but the vast majority on here support Smith
  16. I think I will take Mark Twain's advice here
  17. Extremely good performance tonight. Two great games away to Chelsea and it feels unjust we came away with nothing but pride
  18. They made 10 changes. How is that their first team?
  19. We played them twice in the last two weeks and twice this season. And you try to twist that into 'whatever suits your narrative captain obvious' Pathetic!
  20. Where have I said I cant see the depth in their squad. At the very start of this thread I commented that it was difficult for them to play a weak team. They have masses of strength in depth but the team tonight was not their first team
  21. FFS, it was not their first team. Give up! Yes, it was a very strong team and Chelsea would find it difficult to pick a team from their squad that didn't look like a top 4 team. That is because their squad has fantastic strength in depth. And tonight they played fringe players that are not in their first team.
  22. It is not only me. Everyone pundit, every fan and everyone that knows anything about football will know that was not Chelsea's first team. Have a look at Chelsea's starting 11 in their league games and try and find when last that team started a game
  23. I am referring to this season and the beat us twice, not once. Drawing a cup game that goes to penalties and losing on penalties is still losing.
