    The clubs are based in England but the majority of paying fans are outside England. That is why the PL has so much money, it is because it now has a global audience and no longer is just an England audience

    That would not suit the clubs, preseason has a purpose and to achieve that purpose the managers have the ability to make 11 subs at H/T and focus on getting players fit and trying some new things. If preseason was turned into a meaningless tournament there would be very few commercial opportunities and the TV / advertising value would be low. Its not going to happen

    The players need a holiday followed by a preseason and FIFA and UEFA would be hugely against introducing a new tournament to take place in the summer that isn't under their control. There would be naff all cash in hosting a friendly tournament, it would need to be competitive. I think the idea of having a PL game played abroad is potentially good for the PL but I can't see too many teams wanting to give up their home advantage

    Nakamba is showing us that a replacement is not needed and that he is the right man for the job. He is playing really well and he is currently our bench DM, I really can't see us getting any better quality DM to come in and replace Nakamba on the bench

    If he gets a good move, like one of those, I really can't see Villa standing in his way. He knows his future at Villa isn't rosey, he has been a great servant to the club, scored some extremely important goals and it would be a win win if we could get 10+m for him. I would like to see him leave on good terms with the club and the fans and for a nice opportunity at a good club with CL football.

    If Wes has a half decent season on loan this year I can see us extending his contract. If we extend his contract he will cost us less each year from an P&S perspective and a loan fee could very well cover his wages and amortisation the following season. This could give him the opportunity to prove himself in England and increase his value or become a useful part of the Villa team. I think Wes has the potential to be a good player and age is still on his side.

    The media couldn't give a bollox about unsettling Villa. All they care about is clicks and ad revenue

    His running on the pitch does not suggest he is covering a hernia, I can't see that as a reason for not scoring. I think it is just Ollie is not a natural finisher, some people are and some are not. He still contributes hugely to the team and I wouldn't drop him nor sell him. I expect he will bag about a dozen goals in the league this season and I am happy with that output. I am not expecting him to turn into a 25 goal PL striker

    I think every player at the club has a price and we should look to sell if that price is met. However, the timing may stop us selling. For example, if we get a 100m bid for Martinez in Jan we would probably refuse as it would be very difficult to find a replacement but if we got a 100m bid for Martinez in the summer I can see us looking to make the deal happen by finding a replacement. The only player I can see that would possibly leave us in Jan is AEG.

    If we get a 10m+ bid for AEG I would be very surprised if a) we didn't accept it or b) AEG didn't try to force it through

    Nice try but it is not about giving privileged better treatment it is about trying to get a policy in place to allow international football games take place. The chip on your shoulder must weight you down a lot

    What would be considered good offers? Davis: 1m? Ghazi: 10m? Trez: no possible offerers due to injury El Ghazi will go if a good / okayish offer comes in I expect. Smith has shown that we do not need him

    Watkins is going to be difficult for any club to buy. Although his overall play is excellent he is not a prolific goal scorer. We paid about 30m for him and I suspect we would want a very significant profit if we were to sell him so I expect we would look for 60m+. He will be 26 next summer and will reduce in value for the buying club. I just can't see a team paying 60m+ for a striker that is not a proven 20 goal a season man or a player aged about 20 with masses of potential. Ollie won't be leaving us next summer.

    Aren't Kalinic, Wesley and Guilbert on season long loans and Davis and Trez both injured. None of them will leave the club before next summer at the earliest

    His value will be determined by how he performs for Palace this season and if the rest of the season is anything like the first few games for him then the price will be well north of 20m

    I think Potter will deserve some recognition if he takes Brighton to the top of the PL this evening and as I am giving out recognition, a big tap of the back to Dean Smith for all he has achieved at Aston Villa over the last 3 years

    We are in a good position. We don't need to sell and the clubs that could afford Emi don't need a GK. City, Liverpool, PSG and Man Utd are good in that department and there is no way he would go as a number 2. The problem, albeit a high class problem, we have is that so many of our players need / deserve new contracts. A new contract for Emi will command a hefty pay rise and there is a long queue of senior and youth players deserving new contracts that will also impact our payroll

    He also helped to develop a player that Villa sold for a British record of 100m. We need to be sustainable and to be able to make profit on player sales and bring in new ones and develop them too. This is a really important skill for a Head Coach to have
