  1. I am surprised with how many high profile expressing their approval. Shearer tweeted...YESSSSS, we can dare to dream again
  2. The loop hole to sponsor the Etihad stadium has been closed so City did benefit from that. Just like we benefitted from the loophole of selling our stadium to our owners and using that to avoid breaching FFP, that loophole has been closed too so they can't sell 'The Sports Direct Arena'
  3. I can't see them going down. They will get some players in during the Jan window and their will be a new owner bounce and the fans will be 100% behind the team, particularly if they sack Bruce.
  4. Last summer he got injured and the summer before he was part of the first team as Wes was out injured.
  5. I know, but there are too many friendlies during the year. They are a waste of time
  6. They are allowed to make a loss of 105m over 3 years. They are currently in profit so they could easily spend 250m+ in their next window and be fine with FFP. We were breaking FFP when we were in the Championship and we needed to sell Villa Park to avoid breach of FFP and we still spent 140m+ in our first window.
  7. Agreed, didn't we spend about 150m in out first window and survived by a point on the last day
  8. The way around them is to reduce the amount of friendly games and stick with competitive qualification games only but that would reduce revenue for national associations.
  9. From recollection he is usually injured during transfer windows and when he is not injured he is involved with the 1st team. This summer was the first he was fit and was linked with a number of loans during the window and it did appear he was going to leave but he got injured again
  10. He is too high a risk for a mid to lower Championship club. They can't afford to have someone on the payroll that is not playing football. The only outcome I see for him is to be constantly loaned out until his contract expires. If he has a good season out on loan then maybe someone may pay a few million for him.
  11. I like that team but I think I would play Watkins on the right, Bailey on the left and Ings up front.
  12. That's not why we lost today. Our overall performance as a team was very poor.
  13. It is not the end of the world but the performance was very poor
  14. I think we helped them find a patch of form. We were very poor and made the game easy for Spurs. Our lack of consistency is a concern. I get that we will play better some weeks than others but the difference between a good Villa game and a bad Villa game is too big imo.
  15. I think that may be down to Levy and the amount of money he would want. He is a fabulous player
  16. Second best today, we just didn't have the spark of the last few game unfortunately. Didn't deserve anything from the game.
  17. He was never getting into the starting 11 today after the last 3 performances. The players selected have earned the right to wear the shirt and Buendia and everyone else will have to do something special to take a starting shirt
  18. The truest sign of improvement under Smith. Nobody could argue with that
  19. Yeah, I get that but I would have expected a bit more of the winning team (that finished on the pitch) to make an appearance. 8 changes is a lot. Its not like the 'regulars' were doing well for Spurs in the league
  20. I think quite a few clubs are happy to be participants in the PL and just collect a few quid each year and be a yoyo team. Norwich, Burnley, Toon, Watford, Saints etc etc have no ambition to try and compete at the top. Leicester, Spurs, Everton, Villa and Hammers are the only sides that I think are showing anything like trying to compete at the top. And I am being generous including Hammers in that group. I think they are punching above their weight and have been lucky with some of their purchases and having Rice. I expect their bubble to burst in the not too distant future
  21. After losing 3 league games in a row Spurs went on to win 5-1 in Europe on Thursday evening. They should have lots of confidence so the sensible thing to do was make 8 changes to the side. Well done Nuno
  22. That is the starting 11 I expect too
  23. yes that would be very nice. I would also like a commanding performance where we blow Spurs away and put Nuno under real pressure.
