  1. They have 45k season tickets and a 60k stadium. Match day revenue is critical for a club. That is why clubs spend hundreds of millions increasing stadium capacity. Man Utd make over 100m in match day revenue in a season. That is about 1/6 of total revenue.
  2. Man City and Arsenal are two. Also there are teams with relatively small stadiums. Toon will have 52k at every home game. That is a hell of a lot of revenue
  3. But they are not filling their stadium. That was a screw up by them, the are losing lots of revenue because of that. Toon will be a full house every game
  4. What is the difference between the amount of money they have and NSWE has. It is not a given. The club needs to be managed correctly and the owners need to be prepared to invest the money.
  5. I think there is about 100 miles between them and the nearest PL side. They only need to get enough people to fill their stadium each home game, after that it doesn't matter how big it is. They have a massive catchment in order to fill the stadium each game
  6. Sepp Blatter was in charge of FIFA then. Totally different. Also, the PL is 'owned' by the clubs in the PL. Way too many parties involved for brown envelopes.
  7. Point 1 Massive catchment for a single PL club. I believe the biggest in the PL Huge stadium, will be packed every game They are in PL Football is a global business. People outside of England couldn't give a **** whether the club is in London or Newcastle and many won't even know the difference 300m is very cheap for what you get
  8. I don't believe that at all. With the amount of publicity this takeover had there is no way there would be brown envelopes. Also, if this is so bad for the top clubs in the PL why would they accept brown envelopes.
  9. Its not about going on loan, he is simply not good enough. He is a good player and can hold the ball up well but he is not a PL striker. He has been given loads of chances to prove himself at Villa and either injury or inability to score has stopped him progressing. He is only 23 now and in 17/18 season, as a teenager, he made 28 appearances for us in the Championship. Only 5 appearances the following season but 115 days injured as per your post above. Then 19/20 in the PL 18 appearances and in 20/21 he had 15 appearances. A total of 3 goals in those 72 games. It is not his fault nor is it Villa's fault that he hasn't made it. It is just lack of ability
  10. Sunderland fans won't be throwing too many parties. That is the end of that rivalry between two very big clubs. They now work in different stratospheres. A bit like us and our poor neighbours
  11. No chance. 2022 is Qatar, 2026 is Canada, US & Mexico. It will then be in Europe, Asia and Sth America before it can go to ME again. Also, there is likelihood it will be in Africa in the next 16 to 20 years too.
  12. Let them come and poach Martinez, Konsa, Bailey and whoever else they want. We would command absolute top dollar for them and we can reinvest and get more great players as we will have more funds for spending. The more players we sell at a huge profit the better for Villa.
  13. It would only mean a delay of a few years before they are competing in the PL for top half. Amanda S was very clear today saying they are patient. They won't want relegation but it will not be the end of the world for them. Saying that, I can't see them going down
  14. A bit like Villa. Very handy having Purslow as CEO. When we breached FFP in the Championship he used the loophole to sell Villa Park to an NSWE company to save us. Most other clubs in the Championship call that cheating as we breached FFP to get promoted but the good old claret & blue tinted glasses see it otherwise and its only other clubs that bend the rules.
  15. The value of the sponsorship must be comparable to what other clubs of similar size / success / marketability could command. Yeah, they can probably squeeze this to the limit but they can't take the piss with some silly deal to pump money into the club. Another good thing is that the loophole to sell the stadium to yourself has been closed. We were the last club to exploit this I believe . I am sure The SportsDirect Arena would command a very large sale price. City centre and huge stadium. They could probably sell that to themselves for 100m. Taking into account amortisation, a 100m profit would let u spend about 400m on players
  16. So will Amanda be giving out free cabbages at the turnstile for the next home games or will she have the balls to just fire Bruce quickly
  17. The sponsorship loophole has been closed. You are not allowed to sponsor the club for sponsorship rates above market value. This was not the case when Etihad sponsored the Commonwealth Games stadium for 400m
  18. That makes sense now. I thought u meant they were going to start winning stuff in 2 to 3 years
  19. Last summer as in the last summer i.e. the summer just gone. As I said he was injured and as per the injury history you posted he got injured on Aug 14th.
  20. I am not sure why people are so concerned about PIF having a value of 300Bn. It can't all be used for the Toon and there is effectively **** all difference between having 10 Bn and 300 Bn.
  21. I don't expect to see a new proposal coming and yes as clubs like Villa and Newcastle get bought by mega wealthy owners willing to invest in the club the current top 4/5 will lose out in some way. But there are also opportunities for them as clubs like Villa and Toon improve. We can improve the overall quality of the PL and make it more attractive and able to command more broadcasting fees.
  22. There are two types of reactions on here. Yes it is Sportswashing and the human rights aspect is disgusting but there is also a huge amount of jealousy and blinkering of what NSWE are doing at Villa
  23. We have spent close to 350m in the 3 years that NSWE own us. That is about 1/3 of a billion. We are well on the way to spending outrageous amounts of money and no doubt we are pissing off many many clubs we are leaving in our wake as we buy success. Just look at the Baggies and how we have raided their academy.
