We have had 2 games from 8 (25%) in the league this season where the performance was unacceptable. That isn't even taking into account a very bad game against Spurs. That is too many imo

I agree that Smith learns and improves. My comment was saying that it is unacceptable to simply move on, we must learn. However, Smith needs to up the speed of his learning. His position will become untenable if we have too many more performances like this

Yeah, some people just fail to understand when the best time is to sell a player. They don't seem to be able to take into account, age, length of contract, years already amortised and the impact on the accounting profit and the P&S consequences of said. Buy hey, not everyone is able to see the big picture

That's rubbish. The loss to Chelsea was not shitty, it was a good performance. The loss today and to Watford were shitty because they should not have happened. We cannot keep doing this and it must be rectified. It is not about winning every game and teams that win the league also lose games. It is about delivering results and performances commensurate to the investment, support and resource that are available. We are not doing that. We must fix that and start doing that

Just because someone is a subject matter expert does not mean they can effectively do the job using their knowledge. It is normal that the people lower down the food chain know more about the technicalities of the job than the management do. But managers still sack people for underperforming, Effecting change and delivering material results are down to more than just knowledge

I am aligned with u on that. We cannot be complacent and accept being okay or mid table and I honestly don't believe NSWE or CP will. As regards replacing manager in the PL, it is more difficult. I always remember thinking how stupid Saints were when they sacked Aidkins and replaced him with the relatively unknown Pochettino and confidently predicting their relegation to the Championship
