I suspect the club don't want to sack him but feel they maybe forced into it and I believe they think the current results are not good enough and they will not accept a relegation scrap. IMO, they will sack him rather than risk letting him manager us through a relegation battle

Bloody hell, only 2 points more than Newcastle and they are crap, much worse squad, crap owner for most the year, toxic environment and Bruce as manager EDIT: Only 1 point more than Toon, that's even worse

I don't think it has, I think it has highlighted the issues but it is not what is defining the lack of confidence in Smith. We don't have a system and don't play as a team. We have been like this for nearly all of 2021. Yes, we have had some good games but overall we are very poor this calendar year

The problem with that is that the international break is in between the Saints and Palace games. It would make more sense to sack him after the Saints game and replace him during the break rather than waiting till the Palace game

I agree. But playing one of Ings or Ollie was forced on with injury. God knows what the team would be if Ings was fit

I think Smith should probably have 3 games to save his job but with the international break coming up he may only get 1 more game. It would be better to sack him and replace him while we have a break from league games

I read the problem with Spurs was the salary and the amount of tax he would have to pay, he wanted more money. The rumours for Toon suggest one of the highest paid managers in the PL. That would be circa 20m a year. Smith is on a reported 1.5m

Yeah, that last thing I expected from a Villa & Dean Smith team is the feeling there is something wrong in the dressing room. I would have had the culture and team bonding as probably Dean's greatest asset. I am really surprised by the talk of disharmony and the vibes we are getting from the players. I genuinely feel sorry for Dean with the way things are going

I disagree, we do not want to get relegated and if Dean takes us into the relegation zone and after a couple of games we don't see a market improvement then he must be sacked. I am not saying that will happen, just pointing out he should not have a free pass for this season
