It does but that table is restricted to Villa managers only. Rogers is over 51% at Leicester and at the extreme end Pep has a win % of over 70% and Conte is in the high 50s and 60s
That shocked me too. I appreciate that most of the games were in the Championship but still it was a surprise. More surprisingly is that we have never had a manager that has over a 50% win rate. It is strange that a manager that has exceeded 50% at 5 different clubs in three different countries and has got Shakhtar Donetsk to the knockout stages of the CL is dismissed by Villa fans as being just a sexy name.
Yes that could indeed be a factor. There is no doubt after the Leicester game he was on the verge but Covid helped to save him and post Covid we got our act together somewhat. That occasion may have been Smith's little bit of latitude from CP and NSWE and he may not have that this time around
I would be very happy if that is true. Not that it would mean that Smith is on thin ice but if we are talking to Fonseca then we are prepared to pay very very high wages for a PL manager. It is a sign that NSWE and CP are looking to go shopping in Fortnam & Mason
I agree, if we are midtable at xmas there is no way Smith will be gone. The challenge Smith has is getting to xmas and getting through the next few games. If he can do that he will be safe imo
Fonseca's points return is far more impressive than Lennon's. Lennon went from getting 70% at Celtic to 23% at Bolton. Fonseca went from 74% at SD to 54% at Roma. Do you think that is comparable or did you post hat comment without considering their win percentages and what teams they were at?
Sorry, you are correct. He had a bad year. Clearly not good enough even though his win % is higher in the other seasons than Villa have ever managed since our founding in 1874
I don't think it has anything to do with whether fans want Deano or not. Fonseca is up there in the elite category. I love my VW, its a great car, I don't want to change it but if someone offered me a Ferrari I have to admit I would sacrifice my lovely VW for it
