AVB was at the Web summit in Lisbon last week and was at a resort 2 hours drive away with his family as of 2 days ago according to instagram, for what it's worth

If we are going to be disposing of Smith then I would like to think we may have approached a club about their manager if we are avoiding the 'out of a job' crowd.
Yeah gotcha, I know you get some inside info from time to time so didn't know if that was the case here

They have in their arse spent shit loads of money. We are like Man City in spending compared to Brighton
Can you expand on this point please, I'd really like to see a chart of man city vs villa vs. Brighton?

Based on Ashley Preece's description of 442/4222 I imagine deano is replicating tuchels tactics, which can be extremely fluid in-game

Tom Collomosse from the mail (reported ESR bids and Leon Bailey) reported; Pacy forward (Ings), plus holding Mid and versatile attacking mid.
All make sense...

There will still be value in Europe as clubs won't shy away from a single transfer that can repair their whole p/l after covid losses.
Only issue is the gamble around players hitting the ground running...

I think he has made his mind up. He's known for ages what the situation is, he knew City would come in for him and he knew we would offer him the world. We have yet to establish firstly whether Villa would even entertain a bid and if so what value that would be but excusing that for the time being if it was solely down to Jack he would've decided by now what he was going to do.
Not everybody may know around him what that is because of agreeing a new deal with Villa or whatever but he will have made his decision by now. If people around him know then I would think they would be executing it now from contract discussions and so forth and in the next 48 hours we'll know what that is because whoever wins will want to showcase it.
I think they are just finalising his extension to his Villa contract and we'll see some signing thing soon (in the next day or so).
I just cant see him being still unsure now. It will have been a massive decision but the train is moving.
I think the conversation went, that Jack said he doesnt know and thus the owners said fair enough we will reject all offers and he's a new deal. Game over for City.
Could be extremely similar to the Kalvin Phillips situation when we were in for him

Hi Everyone,
I've been on this site for probably about 2/3 years now, however never really felt the urge to post, but with possibly one of the biggest decisions in the clubs modern history about to be made it feels like a good time!
My first Villa game was at home to arsenal in 1995 when I was 5 years old, for which I still have the programme proudly placed on my coffee table. Its been a rocky road since then but hopefully with some good news this week we are back on an upward trajectory.
Thanks
