Maguire would have took it down and volleyed it home being an elite ball playing centre back

If we get Europe he 100 percent stays. Plus it is very difficult to buy number 9s these days . They are in really short supply. Would be mad to sell even for 20 mill as to find another even slightly better would cost double or more.
I think this is the reason we'd be crazy to sell him at this stage. Maybe he won't make the step up to premiership quality but I think to cash in now would be insane.

You can see how different parts of his game are coming together now. Adding strings to his bow. He is a very very shy kid but you can see a little bit of arrogance/ confidence now that all strikers need. He knows he can kill at this level now. He isnt plateauing . Just getting better and better.

Teams never end up defying xG long term.
We're currently playing very well though, and deserve the results we're getting IMO. Martinez has been incredible as well, held absolutely everything near his goal.
If the good performances continue, it's more likely the xG starts to look healthier than the results turn. We do have a tough run-in, that's a fact. Draws and losses will come eventually.
Graham Potter managed to defy his for 2(?) seasons at Brighton then a further 1/2 season at a completely different club so maybe its possible to deviate for longer than people think!
But yeah i imagine there will be tweaks to improve the situation

Apparently 18 out of 20 clubs voted in favour and 2 abstained. Wonder if we abstained as it would not be a good start to our relationship with our rumoured new sponsor to vote against betting companies.
Based on what Henry Winter said regarding our voice in the Premier League I don't think we would have abstained

Think I recall Bert saying in the post-match that he had "problems" with the previous manager so I'm guessing a personality clash/failure to agree on training objectives etc.
He was asked to stop the volleyed cross field balls across our own backline but refused from what i gather

Could we send him on loan to Vitoria, decent league and I think he’d have the measure of their current forward line so would get plenty of minutes.
This could definitely be an option i think!

I thought we all agreed that we want 9 wins, 71 points and CL football next season. Why be sensible and spoil the fun, when we can be living in dreamland for a while longer.
Oh don’t get me wrong, after all the rubbish we’ve been through over the last few years I’m loving the positivity

Spurs and Liverpool are more likely wins at this moment than Brentford and Brighton.
Yeah I think you could argue that to be fair!

5 home. 4 away.
Home - Forest, Newcastle, Fulham, Spurs, Brighton
Away - Brentford, United, Wolves, Liverpool
You're looking for 9-10 points at home and 5-6 points away.
Will 60 be enough to get us into Europe?
All in our hands. Haven't been this nervy over a run of results since the Championship. Finally - something to play for at the end of the year.
Win the games in bold (maybe substitute spurs for one), then pick up another couple of points here and there...
5 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses = 61 points

I think maybe we need to focus on the things that we have in our favour.
- Fan base
- Resourceful Owners
- An Elite Manager
- Established Premier league, stability.
- Players like Martinez, Watkins, Coutinho, Luiz, Kamara...who could easily be at more succesful clubs.
- Our aspiration/ambition is clear to see.
- Our rise under our manager is exponential...Europe is coming.
- The mood at the club is harmonious and welcoming.
- There is already a significant latin influence from that region.
Aston Villa Is not such a hard sell anymore.
But, but…. Miguel Delaney said he’s not elite

Think they will look to exploit the left with Moreno overlapping and JJ running into channels and covering Moreno more. Certainly more of an attacking option for sure.
This, I don't think Kehrer is the best defensively for them...

It's an odd one - he'll be a little bit too young for a loan in August, but he's progressing so well that we might bump that forward.
In a good quality line up today, it was interesting to see that he was the one that took responsibility for the penalty, bodes well for his mental strength.
Yeah potentially a little bit young. I think we will keep him around until Jan then look for a half season loan as he turns 18

The fact he even mentioned he is not ready for Sunday sounds like it’s not to bad at all.
He even joked that ‘maybe 2 weeks is a long time for Kamara’, I imagine he will be back in the frame for the Chelsea game

I can’t believe Pickford would be the keeper that Emery plucked for in the event of Martinez’s departure

who's that guy?
He’s an ‘itk’ who’s called a couple of things in the past I think

In any case, not gonna overreact without the context.
He’s wearing his Villa kit on the cover of the magazine, could easily have been his Argentina kit
