  1. For me these are his best "World Class" attributes. Not many players with his combination of style and ability. Definitely an "X Factor" player and cant wait to see him in an England shirt! Balance Technique Intelligence Mentality Strength And his best skills... Ball retention Drawing fouls Passing Close control Carrying the ball at pace What do you think?
  2. Absolutely spot on. Ive always said its his fragile mentality which explains the inconsistency. I think Matt Targett suffers the same problem actually.
  3. Brilliant game management from Jack last night. At least someone has the intelligence to do it. Dictated the pace of the game when we had possession and Leicester just could not get the ball off him. Also feel sorry for him having to endure such poor passing from his team mates, giving the ball away time and time again. I actually cant wait to see Drinkwater in action!
  4. Exactly, people can whinge all they like but it's January and there will only be scraps available for a club in our position! Hopefully Drinkwater will feel he has something to prove
  5. Given our midfield situation I'm personally in support of this signing. Beggars can't be choosers especially in January and we desperately need some steel in the middle of the park. Let's hope he delivers
  6. Zero blessings for anyone sadly. Gutted for Wes. 2 season ending injuries in a single match! Only at Villa!
  7. Wesley picking up a serious looking injury after ending his goal drought... does it get any more VILLA than that?! Will be a miracle if he's only out for a month I'm fuming with the officials and that absolute weapon Ben Mee!
  8. That was a fantastic header today the way he ghosted in. Love that he is more willing than ever to have a crack at goal. His confidence is really up in this respect and I want to see him testing the keeper as much as possible.
  9. Spotted this gem today from the Twitterati, absolutely hilarious
  10. If the guy had just made that ONE easy pass today he may have come out of this with a bit of credit. Anyway looks like hell be starting for us for the foreseeable so best we can do is get behind the guy and hope for the best!
  11. I'm calling absolute bull on that ITK stuff although admittedly the chin up bit made me laugh as I immediately started to play the situation out in my head like a comedy sketch
  12. Smith is a terrible ditherer! Rabbit in the headlights and it's a shame someone on the coaching team didnt give him a slap to snap him out of it! Should have been all out attack, immediate instructions to the captain or players to re organise themselves. Instead we actually got worse I'm worried because he is repeating past mistakes.
  13. More of a strain/twinge according to Twitterati. Question marks over his mentality for me. Perhaos I'm being too harsh... I hope so!
  14. Yeah did it against Southampton too. Concentration span of gold fish. He wasn't too bad today but does appear to be made out of papier-mache.
  15. Yep still woeful I said a while back....b b but but he scored two great goals.... yeah whatever. Too lightweight and a fair weather player like Hourihane. Ability is there obviously but when the going is tough there is no impact. I think our midfield setup really is the weak link. We need a proper boss in there!
  16. A barrage of brussell sprouts... well it is Christmas!
  17. Hasn't done any better than Wesley for me and I think that is a reflection on how badly the squad are playing as a team. We have lots of players with potential but they're all cancelling each other out.
  18. Have to agree that while the injury was unlucky he brought it on himself a bit. I've said it before... John needs to manage his own game better. Needlessly charging around is sapping his energy and has now also contributed to a bad injury! Anyway get well soon John and at least it wasn't severe ligament damage!
  19. Another fantastic goal from Jack yesterday! Also good to see he had another crack at goal from outside the box which had a decent amount of power on it. Hope to see more of this.
  20. Absolutely criminal how he lost his man for that first goal. He was basically ball watching and completely oblivious to Ings on his right. Stick to your man and make their life hell for 90 mins. That's what all our defenders should be doing, basics!!
  21. Good bit of business for 4m I think and a decent squad player to have. Would be worth far more if he had an extra yard of pace but think he is best used in middle particularly when the opposition have a few tired legs in second half of a game.
  22. While I have no problem at all with Kodjia potentially starting at weekend let's not forget he has had the luxury of starting against a very young, less physically strong side. Of course he looked good and did well but to make a direct comparison with what Wes has done so far is ridiculous.
  23. Yeah I know about the excellent goals, a while ago now weren't they? Its more his overall play. Don't get me wrong hes obviously very decent and has great potential its just that he seems to be under performing yet doesn't get anywhere near as much stick as Wesley! Obviously "under performing" can be levelled at most of the team!
  24. Personally I dont see alot of flair with Douglas. If this is something he has I want to see a whole lot more from him.
  25. If he was carrying an injury and even if relatively minor then it was a perfect excuse to rest him so seems crazy that he wasn't. Sounds like hes almost recovered from it so hopefully we'll see some of the old John back at the weekend. If I was Smith I would be thinking about starting him from the bench though.
