  1. I know hes not a diver but he was trying to be cute I think and it didn't work out. Could he have stayed in his feet though...
  2. I keep on seeing that image posted in various places but he had already decided to go to ground before that contact was made. Ollies reaction also told me he was looking for the pen. I think if that was an opposition player we would all be calling dive as well.
  3. Ollie could have won that penalty if he was "clever" like Harry Kane and left his leg in rather than jumping first. I don't disagree the ref was cack but Ollie gave a biased ref an easy albeit shite decision.
  4. It was good play by Greenwood and unfortunately Mings committed a bit too much rather than standing up to him. To be honest I thought Emi could have saved that.
  5. I actually haven't got too many complaints with the sending off. To me Ollie had jumped before contact to regardless of his intentions it looked like a dive. What really annoys me is the ref not giving a couple of yellows to Manure in the first half. He also completely ignored El Ghazi getting clattered into which looked as foul. Ref seemed to be letting Man U get away with more than us.
  6. I just don't understand how players can't be fully alert to not giving away stupid penalties. Infuriating lack of awareness or composure. The fact Pogbas back was toward goal makes it even worse. We have a horrible habit of shooting ourselves in the foot when all was going well. Doug's a very good player for us generally so we'll just have to suck it up and hope that is the final lesson to be learnt!
  7. Sums him up I guess lol. He's an important player for us regardless and I'm sure he'll improve.
  8. Unfortunately Johns passing is a liability at the moment. Needs to spend extra hours on the training pitch!
  9. I've been harping on about this for weeks and weeks but see what a difference it makes when you move the ball with some pace. Our movement is better and our possession is better. That was a great game to watch and first time I've not felt too nervous about conceding!
  10. Seems to have made a break through with whatever mental block he had. Was working hard all game, towards the end you could physically see the exertion which I've not seen from him for ages. Surely that performance will pay off fitness wise for the upcoming games and put him in a really positive frame of mind.
  11. Looking like a goal machine. Geat finishing ability although that 5ft nothing Newcastle defence were shocking! Lol
  12. Sounds a perfect fit for Villa lol I'm sure Pereira is a decent player but we made Joelinton look good too!
  13. Another scan to see the extent of the healing more like. If its positive news he'll be back on the training pitch I should think. EDIT: Jack has just updated his Instagram story showing use of red light therapy on his leg.
  14. Shin splints seems likely or at least part of the problem. I dont think anyone knows the exact detail although rumours are hes had an operation on it and a subsequent scan to see if it's healed. Dean is bullish he'll be fine for the Euros so got to assume he will get a few games in before the season is out. Looking to next season, if it is something that Jack has to live with long term then surely Dean will have to rest him where possible or sub him off occasionally on 70 mins if the game allows. We all know he hates being subbed but if it helps prevent him being out for months at a time...
  15. As long he's playing for England I think he'll be happy with Villa. Gives him the best of both worlds. Playing for the best club in the world and playing with or against elite players. That and Call of Duty lol
  16. Hyperbole statement. Did you miss the lovely backheel pass which helped setup the move that resulted in a pen?
  17. One of those players who can be outstanding with better players around him playing more intelligent passing, which is what we lack. Get him on the ball in dangerous areas and he can do damage... otherwise will struggle to make an impact.
  18. Good to see a big effort from Ross. That's the minimum you can ask for but he involved and trying to make things happen. Fact is we were very poor in final third with bad passing decisions. Still we rescued a point and the hope for better goes on. Pleased for Davis who should have been on much sooner and of course big Wes is back too!
  19. Things I don't want to see tonight: Slow, laboured passing or unnecessary passing sideways or backwards when not under pressure. Switching off/standing still after completing a pass. What I want to see: Working hard off the ball and moving into a positive position once a pass has been completed. Showing some controlled aggression. Determination to provide service for Ollie. Not much to ask surely!
  20. I dont think Targett has made many mistakes this season and is certainly now our most consistent player. Even more so than Martinez so I think Targett could easily get player of the season for us.
  21. I'm not saying all his play was bad but his defensive work rate and desire to try and win the ball back is pretty shocking!
  22. Difficult to judge him on this one really. Would still rather be play than Ross. Overall our work rate and movement off the ball is lazy af! Trouble is playing a team like Man City magnifies it ten fold.
  23. He's giving Hourihane a run for his money in terms of a fair weather player. Absolute sloth!
