  1. We got hammered by one of the CL teams on the opening day in difficult circumstances followed by 2 emphatic wins against the worst teams in the PL and the SPL.

This game will be a better indicator of our current level so a good result would be excellent.

If we don't sign somebody it'll have been such a mistake to sell these players. I just don't think we'll get it that wrong.

Window would've been great as it is to be honest, maybe one short in attack, but a great window with the only real mistake being letting Young go.

But if we then gut the periphery of the squad after two major injuries, we'll be flying by the seat of our pants by end of November. Maybe we'll scrape through to January no bother, but the way the last couple weeks have gone you can imagine a couple more injuries still to come when the games pick up.

Hopefully something is in the works. Ferran in by end of the window maybe

Yeah, particularly with Jaden doing so well in pre season, not looking out of place against good opposition. We’re only getting 5 mil for him, how desperate must we be for that money if we’re not getting in a replacement?

Nah agree with @bobzy, much rather hear about the latest 18 year old Armenian wonder kid they've just signed than media blowing their load over "Angeball"

Of course I'd prefer people to talk about us but ultimately it's different expectations for a club of our size e.g people pointing out why we haven't won a trophy for nearly 30 years now.

Oh I hate the spurs hype too. And the Newcastle hype, Arsenal hype, hated the Leeds hype when they got promoted. There is always a flavour of the month that starts to do my head in.

Why wouldn't a neutral big Brighton up, it's been a brilliant story what they've achieved in last decade. Same for Brentford and Luton.

Only issue is people think what they do is completely bullet proof. Go back a decade and Southampton and Swansea were in similar positions playing in europe. Then they made poor transfer decisions and managerial appointments and started slipping down the league table. A decade before it was likes of Charlton and Bolton.

If you're outside the Saudi/Qatar cartel ownership you're only a few bad decisions away from that happening as we saw post O'Neill.

I’m not saying they’re wrong, I’m saying that personally, me, just me, is bored of hearing about how wonderful Brighton are. You’re kind of proving my point, I can’t even say I’ve enjoyed seeing them lose without people starting mounting a defence of them 😁

Why? :D  Massive underdog side, punching above their weight due to fantastic recruitment and coaching.

"Aye, **** that.  We'll have more of Spurs being up there again thanks"

Cos I’m bored of the media telling me they’re everyone’s second team.

Apparently he's mentioned in the embargoed section of the presser.

Strange one as he's not listed as injured for anything either?

Someone mentioned in the comments, there were complications after the birth of his baby and he’s been given some time off. Hoping it’s nothing like that and everything is ok.

It was interesting what he said about the Ings situation to confirm what some supporters were saying. But we can't run a football club where we only have one proper forward because it might cause a downturn in form of Watkins.

I thought that when I read the article. He actually said he felt more confident when Ings left and I thought “cmon mate, deal with your insecurities, we need a back up forward!”

Is it just me or has villareport become a much worse aggregator in the past few months? The style has changed (different person running the account?) and now stuff is being quoted from extremely dubious sources: El Nacional are absolute bullshitters, the Spanish Football Insider (honestly worse). It's a bit annoying because they used to be pretty much the only Villa news aggregator who didn't post any old crap from absolutely garbage sources for interactions.

100% changed around the time Gregg Evans and Ashley Preece moved on from covering Villa. Now started putting exclamations on the end of things and acting much more like a fan account than v neutral/fact based.

A quick question I’d love to know the answer to…

Since Purslow left Villa, who represents us in the Premier League meetings? Is it Heck, Monchi or someone else?

Good question. I’d like to know more about this too. It was Purslows big plus, he knew the league/rules etc inside out.

Emery happy with squad, moves away for Bailey, Digne, Dendoncker, Chambers were a possibility with the club ready to listen to offers, which would have meant replacements brought in, but nothing on the horizion, so looks like we're going with what we've got 😍✨

Is this a quote or insider info or your opinion?

Julio Enciso suffered injury whilst training with Paraguay national team

He was training with Brighton but for some reason the info has been released by the Paraguay national team. They suspect Meniscus tear, I have no idea what that means in terms of time out.
