    Garbage when he starts games.

Garbage is harsh but whilst I’ve been really impressed with his form this season, the home Alkmaar game was like last season Bailey.

  2. He’s had the piss taken out of him massively online given the second goal was such a howler in the week he won that award.

Needs to keep his head straight and not let it affect his confidence.

  3. The only and I mean only thing that worries me about Unai and the control he has at Villa is what happens if he does get poached? I’m not talking about United as I genuinely don’t think he’d go to another Prem club but what if Real or Barca came knocking? Do we lose our entire coaching and scouting staff who all came to be with him?

Are we leaving ourselves a bit vulnerable? I don’t know.

Think its shocking that half the Witton is almost empty with 10 minutes+ left on the best run in the clubs history in generations!

Dunno about shocking. I left a full time and it took me nearly 2 hours to get home and over an hour of that was trying to get out of the surrounding roads. I only live 30 minutes away.
I never leave early but it wasn’t a nail biter, a crucial game or going to the final kick. I get why people might want to miss the last 5 minutes of the game which might reduce their journey time by 30 minutes.
The players weren’t hanging round on the pitch for ages after either, no disrespect to Luton but it was just a routine win.

After the Mcginn free kick goal I'm sure I saw one or two of the players go over a celebrate with Austin

Quite a few of them ran in his direction pointing at him. He was going nuts celebrating. Must have been a nice moment for him.

If we get an early goal I think this could be 4/5-0

Maybe but if we don’t get that early goal and they defend like Trojans, I can see it being quite hard work and the crowd getting quite grumpy as we’ve been spoiled recently and we’re in that dangerous territory where we just expect to brush teams aside.

Both will miss Forest if booked tomorrow.

Don't really want either missing Spurs away, who even would we play at LB if Digne wasn't around?

The 2 options as I see it are play McGinn (bad option) or play Torres there with Carlos and Konsa central (my preferred)

Didn’t we play Lenglet there recently? Mostar maybe? And he did quite well. I don’t think I’ve made this up but I’m not certain.

  8. Heard a rumour that he was going to the US for some further assessment/ possible surgery. But if that doesn’t go well, it could be a career ender. Didn’t pay too much attention to it at the time but interesting that he’s recently been seen in the US.

Am I the only one who thinks this was a somewhat disjointed team performance despite the comfortable scoreline?

I’m glad we got the third goal because they were the stronger team at 2-1. They’re a good side so we were unlikely to be dominant for 90 mins so no I don’t think it was disjointed overall but we did look a bit dodgy for a while which has probably been forgotten by fans but Emery won’t have forgotten it.

Fairly glowing article about him on the BBC site. Currently the run away winner on a “who should be Kane’s understudy?” vote:

Ollie Watkins was on the scoresheet again, 563 days after his last England appearance and goal.

The in-form Aston Villa striker made the most of his long-awaited opportunity to impress Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate once again with the winner in Friday's otherwise low-key friendly with Australia.”

    (Link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67108562)

People are fickle. If Wilson and Toney are in form by next year, one of them will be ahead.
