I just realized it’s already been 7 months since the injury. Makes sense as to why he’s back. There will be no rush back but I’d be surprised if we don’t see him before the end of the season.
It’s been 6 months but I’d love to see him at VP before the season is out.

This injury is situation is unbelievable. Is it time to point to conspiracy theories? Poor training ground turf? Poor home pitch turf? Poor training methods?
Yes, I know some of the injuries are very much "bad luck", but if we play on longer grass, firmer surfaces, or whatever then there are potentially aggravating factors to all these injuries.
The Las Vegas NFL stadium. Has a well known injury causing pitch, could ours be the same?
No team can be this unlucky.
Mings got injured at St James Park, Pau at the Gtech Stadium, Konsa at Bramall Lane, Digne at Old Trafford, Moreno at Anfield, Ramsey at an u21 tournament.
Buendia and Carlos were at Bodymoor but 6 months apart.
I think it’s only Kamara that got injured at VP out of our current list.

Pau needed to play at Fulham anyway but he really needs to play now, though not bringing him on the last 2 games really concerns me.
It will have to be Pau and Lenglet I guess, both left footers, and we have to hope neither of them get injured or we're down to selecting Chambers or Hause
We’ve also not registered Chambers in the Conference League squad which could now be a questionable decision.

How the f*ck are all these injuries possible? What are they doing to get them? Surely this isn't just bad luck?
I don't rate Carlos at all but we literally have no one to play there. Chambers is an even bigger car crash than Carlos and Kamara is out, Konsa is out, Mings is out, Torres is back on the bench but Emery won't play him.
Just close down the Champions League thread, it ain't happening.
I wish Pau had been given some minutes over the last week, or chambers since October cos at least one of them is going to have to play 90mins straight off the bat at the weekend (leading to probably another injury).

Oh good Diego injured as well.
It’s completely ridiculous at this point. I actually feel pretty sorry for the coaching staff and players that all the hard work they’ve put in this season might count for nothing (or much less than was hoped)because of some freakish levels of bad luck.
-
Think we’re going to be really glad we couldn’t secure a move for chambers.

I guess we’re going to see what Tim is made of. Even if not starting I think we’ll see a lot of him.

With Konsa and Kamara likely out for the season, that’s us done I’m afraid.
I want to argue with you but serious long term injuries to Kamara, Mings, Buendia and Konsa in the space of one season plus the medium term of Pau, Digne and Ramsey alongside all the other short term injuries would ruin the season of even the strongest of squads.

Konsa looked the same
Yeah, I think it’s a bit of a myth that any player with a serious injury needs stretchering off.

The huge round of booing when Southgate appeared on the screens was a moment of perfection.
Bit of mischief from the Villa big screen person. A bit like when they put Artera’s sour face in the stands on the screen after we scored against Arsenal.

He’ll be fine.
Well yes but when? Mings will be fine but we won’t see him until next season. Konsa will be fine but won’t play for at least 3 weeks.

The announcements were probably because the odd fan went a bit too far with the abuse.
Yes but surely the easiest thing to do then deal with the fan that went too far (which if there was any racial/homophobic abuse they should deal with strongly)
It was just a bit odd given that the fans drummed up the atmosphere as requested.

Who asked you to stop ?
The more hostile the better
They announced twice mid game that they had a zero tolerance policy on abuse. I couldn’t work out what had been happening as although there had been plenty of booing, none of the songs were abusive. I presumed something must have happened that I didn’t know about, it can’t just have been fans giving Fernandes some stick after they’ve spent the last few days trying to hype up the atmosphere.
I suppose they’ve backed themselves into a corner a bit asking for Brentford to complete an investigation into whatever comments Watkins had.

Great. When that happens I’ll compliment his performance.
In a game where he gives the ball away with every touch and destroys any attacks that go through him I’ll tell it as it is
None of that is true tho so you’re not really telling it as it is.

He got into some good positions l, I’ll give him that, and then he completely **** it up every time.
Id like to see more than that personally
You will.

Genuinely think people let the fact he’s an academy product cloud their judgement.
If Zaniolo or Diaby had put that performance in today there’d be uproar
People have been rightly saying he has been below par, bad even, since returning from injury. Today he was v good, not perfect but finally recognisable as the player of last season.

I've seen that exact game probably 25 times at Villa Park. I could count on 1 hand the number of times they've deserved to win and I'm **** sick of it.
Also this.

Just got in.
Gutted. Water is wet, United beat Villa.
But! We played well, I’m absolutely taking it as a positive, a massive one.
I thought JJ is showing signs of his old self , a really encouraging performance from him.
After Wednesday, I didn’t think that line up had a decent performance in them but I was pleasantly surprised.I thought the fans were on form and stuck with the team.
I said it before the match and I’ll say it again. This is not season defining and our season has not ended. We had a poor run this time last year and we turned it around. We’ll go on a good run again before the season is out.

I had the misfortune of standing in front of one of the most miserable gits ever v Chelsea. Every word out of his gob was either F or negative
For once, I sat in front of the most optimistic, positive Villa fan ever on Wednesday. In the second half, at 3-0 down, he kept saying “I don’t know why people are leaving, one goal were right back in this” and “this is a good game this”. He just got sadly more quiet as the game went on then towards the end he piped up “win on Sunday, we’ll all forget this”.
Fair play that man (and he’s right about the last bit).

Apparently Villa abstained at the PL meeting yesterday, the other was Crystal Palace.
Seen this. Was trying to work out purpose of abstaining. I guess maybe we’d be able to make it work in our favour if the vote wasn’t passed but don’t want to get on the wrong side of the others and vote against it.

I’m sceptical. It reads like a disgruntled employee friends with those who have left and now feeling vulnerable. It lacks detail and context and I think is telling Heck haters what they want to hear.
That said the allegations are concerning but even though the author doesn’t seem the brightest, letter doesn’t cover what avenues have been explored to resolve these issues via employment law which surely would be the most profitable and efficient way for unfairly dismissed employees.
Can’t make up my mind whether it is a brave whistle blower or poison pen letter.
