Some of these Brentford lads would probably love to give Toney a night on their wife as a going away present

It’s absolutely pathetic. I’m not saying they should be calling for his head but they can surely expect him to stfu about wanting to leave.

Isn’t Moreno meant to be his replacement?

and then a younger player to be Moreno’s no2.

He’s better than Moreno imo. Or at least as good as but with different strengths. That’s my  point though…If we had gone through the first half of the season with a less experienced back up to Moreno we wouldn’t have done as well.

I can’t think of another player who’s made more crucial contributions while at the same time routinely being classed as dead weight or a must sell in transfer threads. No other player is subjected to more constant critical cost/benefit analysis. I think he’s earned more respect than he’s afforded.

100% agree. I really think he is a significant part of why we have done so well this season. He is consistently very good. I will be disappointed if he leaves and think if he try and replace him with a player of similar quality then they will cost just as much in wages and fee.

  4. Brentford fans fall over themselves to defend him though. They have no problem with him wanting to leave and better himself. To a degree I get that but surely this is where agents can come in and get you a move behind the scenes without the need to talk about your desire to get away constantly. It’s just disrespectful and the fact that they don’t think so means they don’t belong in the premier league. Inferiority complex.

Yeah my mate who was ex west brom now doesn't play Sunday league or 5 aside or anything, says the job element of it killed it for him

I dont blame white, what he should say is he's more focused on arsenal which is fair, he's resting at home for them rather than sat on the bench watching maguire for England

The weird thing is how it's generally accepted that fans put their club first, people hate international breaks, hate maguire, hate Southgate, some outright hate England but when white calls it our there's outrage? I'm 100% with him

Depends. If he has turned England down for those reasons, then he’s every right to make that choice but I don’t see a path back for him when/if he then does fancy it. However if he’s fallen out with one of his bosses, he needs to grow up a bit (unless there was something misconduct worthy done or said to him which I doubt).

Probably not one for this thread, but I always find it fascinating when a guy gets to a really elite level and has no identifiable interest in the sport at all. Have no idea how you manage to get this far really.

I think you can be competitive, talented and dedicated but also like to switch off away from work.  I doubt it’s even that unusual, he just made the mistake of admitting it.

Project B6 have some interesting tweets tonight

The club have blanked them and they’re pissed off so are taking swipes. If what they’ve said in that tweet is true tho, the club have really messed up with the badge launches (like we didn’t know that already), another layer of farce added.

Saw the red mist as he was frustrated about the side's performance. He will be disappointed tonight going in with that sort of challenge.  I never really understand why fans clap a player who has just been sent off. McGinn has been brilliant for us but he has weakened the side now he is suspended.

I clapped him. Mainly as a show of support for a player who, as you say, has been brilliant for us. He messed up but I think he deserves to know that the fans won’t give him grief about it. He’ll be his own harshest critic.

Hard to believe they actually happened at 0-0. He goes off and we conceded two in two minutes.🤦‍♂️

It's a good point though, looked a muscle injury so probably won't be available next weekend and might miss the last one in March aswell. Ben Davies and the Romanian guy aren't quite as quick to cover Romero's gambles on balls.

They’ve already said they don’t think it’s anything serious.

  10. Bloke looks completely fatigued and no sign of a rest given the injuries and suspension. Him and Tielemans are going to be run into the ground.

    He's not done that.

What did he get sent off for then? Like I said I thought it was harsh but people seem convinced it was a red.

took his frustration with his teammates out on the opposition and as a result made it even more difficult for his teammates.

This sums it up, he was giving it his all, the others weren’t. He over compensated and in doing so caused us even more problems.

  13. I didn’t see it properly at the game and watching it back thought it was a bit harsh, it wasn’t a leg breaker, he’s brought him down. But then I suppose it was excessive force. I don’t think we’ll win an appeal.

    SERIOUS FOUL PLAY

A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.

You can't do what he did though and worryingly he did it again about 10 minutes later

The lack of discipline in the side annoys me. I’m sympathetic to a yellow for a badly timed tackle or a tactical foul but we’ve had so many stupid yellows for chucking balls away, arguing with refs, grabbing the ball to demand a free kick. Ezri’s not the worst by any stretch. Luiz is getting close to a suspension and at least 3 of his have been for ill discipline.
