Fans won't like that one bit regardless of whether he means it, complete Billy big bollox idiot.

They’re not impressed but don’t think they’re getting their knickers in a twist about it.  If he acts all contrite on social media then kisses the badge next time he scores…all forgotten.

It's not the police that's the problem, it will be the CPS, if they don't give them a nailed on case it will be thrown out.

I know this from experience, in December 2019 my 19 year old son took his own life after receiving threatening and abusive messages, the police found them all and arrested the 2 little barstools, and said that they can see them not being prosecuted as the content was vile, the CPS refused to prosecute saying it was not in the public interest.

This is the same CPS that prosecuted that bloke a few months ago for sending a nasty email to the deputy Labour leader.

Both case where for the same charge, sending malicious content.

I'm not a big police supporter but there hands are tied but the CPS. We live in a weak country when it comes to punishing people.

This transfer window is starting to turn into a bit of a nightmare now. Seems like we aren’t as strong as we thought we were with players looking at leaving and running down their contracts. For some odd reason we are anticipating losing our starting RB right at the end of the window as well. And, we haven’t brought in a player to fill a position that we desperately need to fill.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m delighted with Coutinho and Digne as they are improvements on what we have, but it’s pointless if we then go and weaken another area of the pitch.

All feels a bit like football manager at the minute.

One player…one…has an near end of contract situation and we will have to sell some players at some point…that doesn’t mean we won’t improve. Look at the top teams, they do turnover their players. That said, if we want to keep Cash, we will. Same with McGinn, both on long contracts. It’s just transfer window madness. After Monday, it’s back to football.

  4. Purslow said something about having a big summer. Referring to transfers. How are we going to fund that without losing squad depth?
There could be a surprise sale or two. Looks like Luiz. I could see Sanson leaving. One of Watkins or Ings. I suppose all that would free up some funds.

  5. After nearly getting arrested on his last international call up, he’s now been upsetting the Chilean authorities. Our Emi…

Argentina won the game 2-1. Looks like Emi should have done better for their goal but made a couple of top late saves to prevent an equaliser.

Has he, fair play. It does feel like we have a real handle on each clubs players situation. Again with Arsenal it's like Martinez, exploiting that situation, and also with Smith Rowe. Its fantastic.

Found the quote. You and he on the same wavelength:

Explaining Villa's transfer strategy more broadly, Purslow said: "We tend to view summer and January as one. It’s easier to be more strategic about the summer. You perhaps have to be more opportunistic in January.

That was after we signed Coutinho.

We definitely need another CB otherwise it would be insane letting Tuanzebe go.

DM we don't necessarily need to sort until the summer, but would be great if we could get one of our main targets in.

Wasn’t our choice. United recalled him and loaned him to Napoli instead as we weren’t playing him. The club wanted him to stay, they didn’t want to be in this situation.

I think we’ll get one or two more over the line before end of business Monday.  Just a feeling that a DM and a CB incoming, it’s just who?

No doubt we have plan A, a Plan B and possibly a Plan C. Interesting few days ahead and at least something to focus on without a game this weekend..

Both of those positions are not ones we should be buying back ups for as in players who are never going to be more than back ups. If we weren’t maxed out on loans, I’d be happy to loan a back up CB but seeing as we have to buy, we need to be investing it in a youngster who can be pushing to make the position his own in a year or so. Another Konsa basically. The DM needs to go straight in now so need to spend money on this one. I fear the Bentancur signing is faltering. I hope that Gerrard sticks to his guns and if he can’t get the players he wants just waits until summer.

  9. Odd timing that both Evans and Preece ran stories about his contract situation out of nowhere this morning and then all of a sudden there are links to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool. It feels like the club are unofficially putting him on the market. This is the last window to get a decent fee for him, I suppose. Shame tho.

Nothing personal, if anyone posts so called ‘facts’ from Twitter without supporting evidence I ask for the link - I was not the only one to request this. I now have seen the post concerned - why do you think this believable?

You know this is a fan forum not a court of law right? I didn’t post a fact, i posted the link where someone said they had information that Villa had walked away from the deal. Why are you even in a thread for a player we don’t own if not for speculation and endless arguments about whether he would be good or not. Maybe you’re actually just here for the Atomic Kitten chat.

Oh dear, I think you need come away from the ‘never-never’ land of social media and understand that repeating something for repeating sake is neither helpful or clever - it’s not your speculation it’s some one else’s guess (or just a troll at play.

I’m also interested to see if you go after everyone else posting links to Twitter or just me (for some reason).  We’ll see…

I don’t need to understand anything for your benefit. I’ve got a day off work, a self isolating child and I’ve passed some time on Twitter and VT.  Just cos you don’t like Twitter links doesn’t mean nobody else does. People post stuff on here that I don’t like, guess what…I scroll past.

  13. The translation in the @ link says the below. Juve seem keen to complete so they can get on with their business. I’ve seen some other Villa fan on Twitter saying he’s legit heard that we’ve walked away from the deal.

Juventus awaits the offer of Aston Villa for Rodrigo Bentancur: 25 million euros are coming from Steven Gerrard's line-up, with the company that today seems willing to formulate it concretely. 35% of the sale is due to previous agreements to Boca Juniors but in front of such a proposal, Juve could give up. To understand what Aaron Ramsey will do, if he accepts a proposal from the Premier League since he ended up out of the team in fact in Turin. Stalemate for Arthur at Arsenal (the formula does not change), so Juve waits for signals from Birmingham before unlocking the offer for Nahitan Nandez. Cagliari asks for 2 million euros and 15 for the redemption obligation, Juve puts on the plate the right but also the loan of Kaio Jorge and potentially also that of the young Filippo Ranocchia.
