We were on the brink of bankruptcy and lost in the Championship, about to sell our best player for a pack of fags and and a Josh Onomah (what ever that was?).
3 and a half years later we are an established premier league team with almost the entire first team of international level players, or top prospects to gain international caps.
Our academy is now producing top talent at an alarming rate. Some of our young footballers are going on loan to teams in the championship as just teenagers.
the signings of Gerrard as manager and players like Coutinho and Dignie has finally given us recognition from the press. They’re are now looking at our club as a professional outfit with tonnes on potential to break in to Europe in the next couple of seasons.
All we need is to increase our commercial revenue and we could fulfil that promise of being a European team, not just as a one off, but on a regular basis.
We’ve come so far so quick. Yet, some how I’m starting feel we have lots more to come. It’s real exciting to be a Villa fan right now.
