  1. If you are willing to pay £30m+ on championship level strikers and are willing to pay the likes of Jedinak £60k a week it would be worth offering a shitload of cash to potentially world class managers. He is disillusioned with Argentinian football at the moment too for various reasons. He will probably replace Simeone eventually though. It would be no harm to have ambition when going for the next manager.
  2. Would Marcelo Gallardo be attainable? Has been sensational at River Plate and would speak English due to his time playing in the MLS. Be worth trying anyway.
  3. Big win for Wigan tonight too, themselves and Blackburn are still 7 points behind but Villa are clearly the worst team in the league at the moment. Even Rotherham are showing a bit of fight these days.
  4. It is a good thing our second half performances are always better than our first. We will come back and win 4-2 and all will be forgiven.
  5. Of course sacking Bruce and putting in a positive, intelligent and tactically astute manager might save us.
  6. I know the Bielsa ship is long since sailed, maybe one of his ambitious young disciples scattered across Europe and South America might be attainable. Zdenek Zeman until the end of the season would also be the stuff dreams are made of also. Let him teach the coaches how to coach and how a team is set up properly to attack. Pardew is probably what we will get though.
  7. Warburton is probably not the answer either, Rangers have been shambolic defensively under him in both the SPL and Scottish championship and he has made some ridiculous statements. He was lucky to have been in place in a well run Brentford outfit to make a name for himself but he would be a disappointing appointment for me.
  8. And we might enjoy dominating teams in League 1 next season.
  9. I honestly thought that signing new midfielders would be enough to keep us out of a relegation battle, I was wrong. No clubs will fear Villa and all teams will raise their game their game playing us, if there isn't a marked improvement in performances then League 1 is a real possibility.
  10. Instead of spending vast sums on championship level players it is time he spends a vast sum on a top manager instead. Sell it as a massive challenge to someone like Bielsa and pay him whatever he wants.
  11. Villa were very lucky to pick up so many points in his early games, the performances were still very poor for the most part.
  12. Bottom of the form table from last 6 games and they were not a difficult set of games too. A proper replacement needs to be scouted and in place by March or April to try finish off the season with some bit of momentum. The length of time dross has been served up at this stage indicates that he isn't going to be able to get the best out of these players.
  13. Tony and Steve Round may as well use the next few weeks sourcing the next Jaap Stam or similar, let Bruce have a little bit more time but he has no future here. He is a failure already. RDM wasn't even as bad, just needed someone to tell him that a 4-1-5 formation wasn't a good idea when defending a lead.
  14. Only going to get closer to trouble if performances continue like this. Will still be safe but not an impossibility as the team have been amongst the bottom 3 in performance levels for the past 2 months.
  15. He has developed physically a good bit in the last year too which is good to see. If he could add a bit more explosiveness to his game he could have potential to reach maybe a Zaha level winger. He should play most games for the rest of the season with Thor/Grealish being used as a squad rotation options. Bruce will surely have to start playing 2 up top with Hogan signing, that should benefit the wide players.
  16. I'd say Olsson replacing him at Swansea has played a good part in their upturn in form.
  17. Must have been when they were at Wigan then but he did say that was the instructions from Bruce. It was the Monday after John Terry had a nightmare in the FA cup 3rd round and they were talking about losing pace.
  18. Kevin Kilbane was on the radio a couple of weeks ago about when his legs had gone as a player. He said they went when he was at Hull but never really realised it under Bruce who had instructed him not to go past the half way line, similar to Trapppatoni he is a dinosaur of a manager. That said the Hull squad that went up last season had a huge amount of quality and he assembled that and was able to have them playing winning football, how he manages to get Villa playing winning football is going to be hard to envisage.
  19. Has looked like a left footed Gary Gardner tonight, incredible what this club can do to players. Westwood will be playing premier league football for a good team next week with Defour injured, will be interesting to see how he gets on.
  20. He made some brilliant investments when he was a player, is ridiculously wealthy now so can gamble to his hearts content.
  21. Did all the people saying he was the worst, most disgraceful coward they ever seen play for Villa miss out on seeing the likes of Lescott and Richards arseing around behind him last season.
  22. They have seen plenty of examples of Dyche turning absolute rubbish into competent premier league footballers.
  23. He will do well there eventually when Dyche rebuilds his confidence but has been finished here for a long time. In his first season I though he was going to be excellent.
  24. I hope there is a sell on clause as he still has potential of hittng a bit of good form and moving on somewhere else for a big fee.
