Lot of reports suggesting that we are going to cash in on Luiz. Would be sad to see him leave. If he brings in 100mill then can't see club saying no.

    Where?

One thing I've noticed about Ollie recently is that his finishing has gone up a level. He hits the ball so sweetly and more often than not it is on target. He is starting to become the clinical finisher we need.

He's hitting the bottom corners as well. Improved no end.

  3. Very different player to JJ. He's better in tight spaces.

Way, way too early to judge how he's going to fit in here IMO. But if I had to guess I'd say he's going to be a very good player for us.

Hahaha my God, they seriously overrate their players don’t they? If Torres played for them he’d be the greatest defender of all time.

Be great to beat them in their cup final on Sunday.

My favourite reply to the original tweet was 'The balls to make that pass is insane'. There's no pressure on him ffs and the passing lane is clear 😂😂😭

Well read the original post I responded to then before getting into a back and forth, because the original post was about him being better when he was single. Hence why I took exception to to it.

And there isn't one player in the PL that doesn't have off games, even the best players do so to expect him to stamp his authority on every game is a little mad imo. He's our best midfielder by far.

I love Dougie but Kamara is slightly better for me.

  6. And I wouldn't say it's his focus that's going, but he's been less of a presence in quite a few games now this season IMO. Compared to the tenacious figure he became when Emery joined anyway. His technical ability and intelligence is never in question.

Course I can argue with it. it's not just the numbers he's been instrumental in our form this season and everything good we've done. The idea that banging a bird is causing him to lose focus is ludicrous. Absolute nonsense. Every player in the squad is probably in a relationship ffs.

Who said anything about that's what is causing him to lose focus? If they did I missed that part of the convo. And I didn't say you couldn't argue with it, I said you can't argue with the numbers he's putting up, in a good way, ffs.

Seriously? Scored twice last week been fantastic all season bar the odd game. His numbers suggest he's not lost any focus.

Not all about numbers though, which you can't argue with. But some games he hasn't stamped his authority as much as he normally does.

Two goals in a Derby and suddenly he's the best player in the Premier League. Ollie has been firing from the get - go. If it's not goals, it's assists.

Tbf he has 18 goal contributions in the PL this season, more than what I thought he had as I've not really noticed him tbh. But I don't watch too much outside of Villa games these days!

You can't help but feel that's probably a clean sheet with Mings in the side.

    Huge assumption to make.

Why though we are conceding goals and  chances without Carlos. Arguably our two best defensive performances this season was man city and Arsensl. Top opposition in which Carlos was brilliant in both.

Yesterday the defence were really poor especially from corners and set pieces.

Why have you just taken two games as examples of when Carlos was playing? We were flying at that period, both were home games. I'm fairly certain we've had some ropey away performances with Carlos involved - Man Utd away for one! Luton away they will bombard you.

Precis of the another one gag for an ignoramus who has missed the reference?

I was born in 1984… and in my lifetime (and my opinion) we haven’t had a better goalkeeper…

    Emis performances for us eclipse:

    Spink

    Bosnich

Schmeichal (I know he was the best in the world at the time, but Emi has done better for us!)

    Freidel

those are probably the whose who of best goalkeepers we have had in that time… and Emi has flown past them regarding performance levels

Schmeichel wasn't the best in the world by the time he signed for us surely?

I've always thought he lacked consistency.

Not the consistency of scoring every single week - very few in the world are at that level. The consistency of striking the ball, even in the same match. Sometimes a good hit, other times scuffed, dragged or mistimed.

The last few weeks he's been hitting the ball incredibly true. Away at Fulham he absolutely cracked one past the keeper. Against Forest he struck one beautifully but just wide. His second today wasn't a pure instep shot, he curled it beyond the keeper with accuracy and pace.

We know he tends to have "streaky" form, but I wonder if this is less to do with a streak and more to do with hard work. If it IS the latter, the streaky form will disappear too and he'll be scoring like Harry Kane.

And if/when that happens, he'll have to be in that top bracket of strikers with the likes of Haaland, Kane and Salah. Which is **** incredible when you look at his journey compared to theirs.

    Go on son!

The finish for the second was God damn beautiful

Got to be careful we don't play him enough times to trigger his mandatory buy option.

Imagine being stuck with this guy on a 4 or 5 year deal...

Got to be careful 😂 like we'll forget.

I'm puzzled by people thinking he was good to be honest. Our defense was on its arse, and he was a big part of it, against one of the worst teams in the division. His comical attempts to win a header for their first goal summed him up.

He was an emergency loan, he's far from first choice, so through that lens, maybe we're unlikely to get much better, but there's a bloody good reason he's nowhere near the team without several injuries.

Luton score quite a few at home.
