Hmmm. I think that would mean him missing the West Ham game. I think we'll find a way to do without him midweek.
Why would it? He must be nearing full fitness now.

It's painful when he tries to take someone on, he can't seem to get past anyone? Really not sure if beating players is in his locker?
He tried to go past someone yesterday and I just had zero faith in him, think it got blocked for a corner in the end.

Two games with some poor moments for Konsa. Hopefully he wises up again.
Of course he will. No-one is perfect, but Konsa is top class.

the second one wasn't a bad decision at all, konsa stepped across him either looking for a foul or looking to block him off so that the ball ran through to emi, they tussled, konsa ends up tripping him, you can argue whether or not konsa is actually fouled but for me its 50/50 and if that is a foul in that part of the pitch as he ran through its an all day yellow card lucky not to be a straight red
my issue with it is that he tried to play the man rather than the ball, just smash it out
both cards were completely avoidable
He is trying to get to the ball for the one second he has before Akpom grabs hold of him. And of course he stepped across him, he had to, that's what happens when two players are going for the ball, if he doesn't step across him, he lets Akpom get to the ball first. But he never really blocks him until Akpom grabs hold of him.

I wish we'd given him more minutes the last few months tbh. I feel his time has come and gone now, but there he's definitely a better player than we've seen.
Yeah, he's never gonna get any rhythm going with these scraps of minutes.

That booking was nonsense. He was being fouled if anything.
You can tell by the way Akpom threw himself down that he knew he was the guilty party.

You want to keep the wage bill manageable, you have to carry a Tim or 2 on the roster. Definitely struggled but he harassed Ajax and allowed McGinn to ride the bench for the majority of the match. Job done, averagely.
'A Tim or two' I feel that's doing him a huge injustice and almost writing him off as a below par-to-average squad filler. He's still a kid who's barely played. We don't know how far his potential can take him.

Misses the second leg for this I assume? Joke!
Also, look at the determination of Ollie telling Moreno off for something.

Why though? Strange to start a centre back that you know you have to take off at halftime. It seems as though he's managing an injury for a long time now. Hope he doesn't end up being another James Chester.
Match fitness/sharpness for Sunday.

This isnt a must win. Its a must not lose.i have got used to Emery going for the win but just this Sunday i hope he is far more pragmatic. Work out how to stop their front 3 and not give them loads of grass to run into. Cash needs to take Son out with a chest height challenge for a start just to wind up their fans
If they win their game in hand they're only two points behind us. We're at home, we should be positive and go for the win.

Something must have happened to him. A divorce or homesickness or a family bereavement or something. He looks like a defeated man, which is such a shame because he's a bloody good player.
Body language legit reminds me of Junior in Cool Runnings before he finds his confidence.

Yes I'm baffled by the reactions, other than mistake before he went off, I thought he had a solid game, won possession back a number of times, and at other times when he couldn't win it back, he was still making sure they couldn't pass it exactly as they wanted, kept it simple in possession, but given the circumstances was probably told to do so. Also as I've stated numerous times, he's not actually used to playing as the main DM, given it was his first start for us, and it was away to Ajax in a European Quarter-Final I thought he did okay,
Agree, it's not the QFs though is it?

Fingers crossed
-
Only saw second half but thought he played a couple of decent passes when it was tight
-
Btw the Ajax second yellow was deserved IMO. Konsa's defo weren't.
-
Youri is not looking sharp at all
-
Was that not a foul on Konsa?

Christ...that Zaniolo booking was a **** joke!

Yeah the desire to correct what they see as an act of violence with their own act of violence from one of their players who is renowned for similar acts of violence is very amusing.
It'll be funny when Cash doesn't even play. They'll claim he was scared
Much worse as well. Them creaming themselves over his pass out from the back under no pressure the other day was comical though.

Not mentioning the advocating of violence against Cash which makes me think some of their fans have a screw loose, they also seem to think they have much better players than us and that their injuries are why they are lower in the table than they should be (not mentioning how bad Villa's injuries have been of course and the fact most of their players have been fit for weeks now).
Think they're very delusional if they don't think Martinez, Pau Torres, Luiz, Bailey and Watkins don't walk into their side if you ask me. Only players from them that would definitely get in our side are Son, Maddison and the full backs IMO, but we're all a bit biased I guess.
There are some decent comments on there too with some nice things to say about us, but some of their fans really are muppets.
Honestly, their hatred of Cash is laughable. He hasn't got a bad bone in his body. He can be a bit rash and a bit clumsy with his tackling. And they're hating on him and worshipping Romero who makes genuinely nasty challenges with genuine intent to hurt players. It's pathetic.

11 apps off 200 (all comps) for us according to Transfermarkt.

I'm sure Emery in that tactical interview thing he did the other day said something along the lines of 'sometimes the players have to think for themselves' so I hope/assume there he's referring to giving them some creative freedom.
Really interesting comments from Rogers though! FWIW I think he's got everything to be a very good player for us.
