  1. He is very average. Ten years ago he would have been thought of alongside Sidwell in the 'what does he do' stakes.

Shows how far we have fallen when people are desperate to find something in an attacking player who neither scores goals or creates them...and his corners are just as shit as Westwood's, maybe even worse.

Really hope this is just a troll...

  2. Has anyone thought about setting up a fans channel for us on YouTube? You know the ones, they interview fans outside the ground after games to get their views on the match/general goings-on within the club, and then they're uploaded to YouTube for viewing.

Or maybe there's one already? Couldn't see one when I had a quick look on YT though.

  3. If a striker doesn't move, then Gil and Grealish can't do much. Honestly I'd try Ayew up top on his own and leave Gestede out. For me he is a big problem for our attacking play, we played our best football against Leicester in that first half, because we had Sinclair and even Gabby moving off the ball for Gil and Grealish to pick out, with Gestede we are fairly limited as he has next to no mobility to move defenders.

This couldn't be any more spot on.

are you free to work every weekend between now and may ?

Have I missed a joke here or is this a serious question?

  4. He's been way off it in most games over the past month and probably deserves to be dropped imo. My only problem with how he is being played is that he shouldn't be played so deep and in the first 4 games of the season he was playing more advanced and was having good games and having a big influence on games. Ever since the Leicester game where he played in midfield 2 he has looked like he is struggling in most games. He needs to play infront of proper defensive midfielder to get the best out of him.

Don't agree, he's terrible in a more advanced role IMO.

  6. Saying on talk sport (who hate us remember), Sherwood kept us in the League last season playing to benteke's strengths. maybe he should try the same with Gestede!

Problem is that Gestede doesn't have 'strengths', he has only one, which is heading, which isn't going to be enough.

  7. Guzan a few years back and for a long time was one of our best players. Great reflexes, good on crosses and I always felt assured when he was in goal. He always brought confidence to the back line.

Recently though it's the opposite because of his kicking. He's so awkward on the ball it's unreal. So annoyed how him and the statue Lescott cost us today, but you can't forget all the good Guzan has done for us.

  8.

Its unlikely, but I'm just saying I don't think its at the point where there is no way back for him. He certainly hasn't burned his bridges - he's made some strange calls, people are seriously questioning him, but he's not overseen embarrassing collapses in individual games.

    What about Leicester away?

  9. Something happened to him yesterday because there were at least three occasions in the second half when he had loads of space to overlap in to and he didn't go. He held back and received a nothing ball.

We'd switched to a back four then so maybe he was told not to bomb on. Maybe he wanted to but was worried about leaving the space in behind that has led to goals previously. Either way, he needs to have the confidence to run past people, especially when there's easy space to run in to.

And there was a moment in the last fifteen minutes when Grealish had the ball twenty yards infield and was imploring him to bomb on so he could play a ball in.

In the end Grealish played the ball there anyway to force Amavi to run on to it - he belatedly chased it and nearly got to it but it went out of play. Before any of that had happened, Jack had already shouted "F*** off" and turned his back on it - he was clearly furious.

    Now that begs two questions.

1.) Is Amavi being instructed not to make runs to the byline, even when other players think the space is available?

2.) Does our 20 year old playmaker know more about the game than his manager?

I think we've got this very talented footballer confused and tied up in knots of thinking about what he should be doing rather than just expressing his ability - by all means make sure he's doing everything right tactically in his own half, but let him play once he's in the final third surely?

He looks really, really frustrated to me.

Someone recalls that differently in the Grealish thread :D

  10. Were ruining this guy's career

    Shame

Not ruining ruining his career in the slightest. He's a good player with huge potential and he's showing that.

He cost us a point against Palace and you could say the goal VS Albion was down to his error as well. So there's a lot of room for improvement still.

  11. I remember after Sherwood got sacked by Spurs he was doing some punditry on ITV4 on the Europa League. He came across utterly clueless with his opinions on certain players etc. I put that to the back of my mind after what he did end of last season but now it's more in my mind than ever!
