Decent game. Reminded me a bit of Paulo Wanchope with that run in the 2nd half

I'd rather Bacuna played CM over Gardner.

Perhaps fantastic was a tad hyperbolic. I thought he was our best player.
No way, Ayew was our best player, and by some distance too.

If Adomah's coming in I think Jack will be the one to lose his place.
Personally I'd put Jack at 10 and drop McCormack. Plenty of rotation options though.

What a performance, can create something out of nothing. Our key will be getting the best out of him this season.
-
Few moments of decent play but overall was quite poor. Too predictable coming inside every time.

Not a fan of him hoofing it aimlessly under no pressure.

Went today and RDM was really poor IMO. Grealish was crying out for an attacking overlapper who can actually cross, although Cissokho was very solid, I think bringing Amavi on would have been the crucial move.
We take the lead and just invite pressure, and had one (unbelievably weak and toothless) CM on. Jedinak should have come on for probably McCormack.
Gardner and Westwood is a very weak midfield pairing, and that's our weakest position IMO. Would rather have Bacuna in there though than one of those two.
Jordan Ayew was outstanding btw, he's our best player tbf.

'Potential' means bugger all to us in our position. We need ability, commitment and dedication and we need it now. We don't have the luxury to wait for players to possibly, maybe reach their potential, one day, at some point. We need players that will help us win games right now so that we can try and get back to the Premier League.
Adama was not such a player.
A good balance is good. No point going back up with players who are great in The Championship but awful in the Prem. We need PL potential in our squad as well.

I'm gutted too. We've lost three good players this summer in Gil, Veretout and Adama IMO. This the one I'm most gutted about as his potential is off-the-scale really.
Just wish he could have played a lot more last season. His assist VS Sunderland away for the Gil volley his best moment for us.

So Adomah is the attacking midfielder?
I thought he was a right-winger but could be wrong.

So might RDM, but Adama didn't want to persevere with us.
Fair point. I just wish he was given more game time, more so last season. But I guess there could be any number of reasons as to why he was being left out.

FWIW I would much rather have persevered with Adama than sign a 28/29-year-old. Ahh well, hope he does the business.

I think you're overlooking McCormack there. I know he was bought to score goals but he's created more chances than anyone else in the division so far (18).
Yeah, I'll give you that, he is quite an intelligent striker with a bit of creativity about him.
I'd say our weakest position is central midfield now - hopefully Westwood, Gardner, Tshibola and Jedinak will be good enough if they can step up.

Pleased with our attacking options, still think we're lacking one more creative player. Either a no.10 or a deep-lying playmaker (Westwood is not a playmaker). We only have Grealish.

Hope he's got Gabby, Lescott and Richards in there as well!
I think we'd want the opposite for them.

How so many people couldn't see any ability in him last season truly bewilders me.

Truth be told he is not cut out for us right now, mentally he comes across frail and I think that we as a club are in a more hungrier fighting spirit than Veretout.
I hope he has a cracking season and will be like a new signing when we're a premier league team next season.
He seemed to be a fighter on the pitch last season? Our best deeper-lying centre mid IMO. Wish him well.

He loves a moan at his team mates.

Glad he's going. I suspect the 'altercation' at Worcester was the final straw for both parties. Just a couple of crossed words but it showed a section of the support wouldn't forgive and forget. Certainly had the truth been told about the car tweet - rather than making up some thing about a multi-millionaire footballer not having a phone that locks - then it might have been retrievable.
I thought it'd be a good signing, especially alongside his mate in defence. I thought he'd make us dangerous from set pieces and it was good to have 'one of us' in there. Completely wrong with that one.
Time for everyone to move on.
What happened when we played Worcester?
-
Why is everyone laying into him? I don't blame him for wanting to leave tbh. Massive talent and he's never going to improve if he doesn't play.

I really like the look of our squad. Only complaint is that it's a bit bloated.
We have 3 left backs, 6 centre backs (counting Richards) and Gabby.

I'd start him on Weds.
