  1. Feel like we'd be winning by now if Archer was on
  2. Our brand colourways do always seem to cause a problem with badges and logos, but it's true that the best combination definitely seems to involve a yellow lion on a claret background. I feel like that should always be the starting point, whether it's a standalone lion, a circle, a shield, a gaslamp or whatever. The blue should probably just be used for highlighting because it never really stands out alongside the claret and yellow.
  3. Yeah, I think the original is better too, but it still works ok as a cover.
  4. Woo! Should have been on Phantomime. Apparently it's a single in the enormously expensive Impera boxset.
  5. Ah, so, it appears that what they launched is basically a not-ready-for-real-life beta version. Most of these features need implementing before it's of any real use.
  6. I honestly don't get this. It's easy. Like, really easy. Like exactly as easy as any other social media service. Just sign up to mastodon.social and you're away. You can sign up to any other server if you want (I did) but it doesn't really matter that much.
  7. I'm going to stick to Mastodon for the time being, and occasionally go back to Twitter for those that haven't got Mastodon accounts.
  8. Useless while it doesn't offer a feed that only shows those you follow. Currently you just get nonstop rubbish fired at you based on... something algorithm something.
  9. Signed up to Threads, but until they offer a "Following" feed it's basically a totally useless firehouse of random nonsense.

    Weather...

So every time there's a thunderstorm Buendia pops over and turns your heating on? Weird setup you have there.
  11. It's ruffling a few feathers on Mastodon because it is designed to interoperate with the fediverse. However, unlike Mastodon, its app permissions suggest it will ask for access to basically all your personal content. On top of that, there are concerns about how it might make use of account data that it links to on the fediverse. Basically, it seems likely that it's a Big Tech company wading into a free and open platform and stomping around ruining things and grabbing as much stuff as it can. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
  12. Track limits Track limits Track limits
  13. Why are they calling themselves "Tottenham" these days? And why does everyone call them that too? They always used to be just "Spurs". It's like calling ourselves "Aston"
  14. The original redbrick. One of the most spectacular campuses you'll find anywhere. Some of the physics breakthroughs here have been extraordinary (read up on Mark Oliphant, Otto Frisch and Rudolf Peierls). Old Joe is the world's tallest freestanding clock tower (although supposedly some Saudi thing has been built that is much taller). And also, it's Isengard. The only thing I'll say is that the closure of Rich Bitch studios and all the curry houses in Selly Oak has affected the soul of the place somewhat, but then again students these days aren't so bothered by those sorts of things I am told.
  15. Nnnnooooooo!!! That reintroduces the absolute most significant problem with the old badge, which is that the lion is just a splodge of impossible-to-see light colour on an equally light background. To have a yellow lion you'd have to put it on a claret background and then you basically end up with a complete redesign.
  16. Jacob Rees-Mogg has chosen today to announce the ground-breaking discovery of the Elon Musk Particle. Who said science is dead in this country?
  17. The second of the decomposed icons is definitely the insignia of a Transformer faction
  18. You will as long as you're happy to hear lots of new songs!
  19. It already does. The lion is taking the throw in and the star is the ball.
  20. Saw Peter Gabriel at the NIA last night. As always a superb show, full of humour and warmth and emotion and a real rapport with the audience. I'm amazed how well he is still singing - I swear he hasn't dropped the key of any of his songs. He's obviously a bit less mobile these days but he still tried to run around the stage like a loon. The set list veered slightly more towards the less hectic songs than previous tours but that's understandable. Interestingly he chose to play probably 50% brand new songs. A testament to the strength of his new material that they sat so well with the older music. I miss the days of zorb balls and bicycles and other assorted madness on stage, but the design was still extremely clever and well thought through with a nice linking theme through about life and death our place in the world. His opening monologue was very funny - apparently we we watching a virtual Peter Gabriel avatar, but unlike Abba, he chose to make himself old and fat and bald. The real Peter Gabriel is apparently ripped and relaxing on a Caribbean beach
  21. Disallowed. I reckon that took five minutes or more. And I don't really know why either.
