  1. Yeah, I'm unsure what this punishment is for exactly. If it's just an overspend it seems a bit harsh, but if it's for trying to scam money by lying about COVID losses then quite frankly this isn't nearly enough, that was utterly despicable behaviour. All the reports I've seen just talk about an overspend and breach of ffp.
  2. Wife had a 2024 model Hyundai Kona courtesy car for the day as ours was in for a service. Very nice - larger and better packaged without being massive, quality materials, well built, fabulous displays. It was sadly a clunky old-fashioned ICE thing under the hood but it at least confirms that the next-gen electric Kona is going to be a real gem.
  3. "Douglas... erm... whatsisnname." Ian Wright, MOTD2.
  4. I wish I was as super smart as you, and I could understand why
  5. Anybody got the faintest idea what is going on in Loki? It's completely incomprehensible.
  6. Thank you. It's ridiculous how loud it is. I approved of the installation of a better PA system a few seasons back, but it should have been to improve the quality of the sound, not ramp it up to unbearable levels.

    Watches

Got my Shatner-designed Egard Passages watch on today. It has genuine asteroid dust on the dial (those little grey dots by the hands) and I genuinely believe it's real asteroid dust and not a scam in any way at all. They just announced a sequel version that looks pretty nice too.
  8. Can you explain the 1-0 and 2-1 please? I get the 2 goal thing, because we would have won and lost against Legia and would have a better goal difference against them in those games. But if we win 1-0 why does that guarantee we win the group? Surely we'd have equal goal difference and equal goals scored, so then it becomes ordinary goal difference across the table doesn't it?
  9. Yeah, I don't live in Lichfield despite my moniker. That's deffo not Brum
  10. The rules explicitly state that if it's a save by an opposition player then the "deliberate play" thing doesn't come into it. I assume this is to stop players from standing right by the keeper and nodding in any parried shots etc.
  11. Ah! Interesting. So the "play" of the ball for positioning purposes is taken as being the defender, not Ollie. Is that explained in the rules? Edit - no I still don't get it. If being behind the ball means it isn't offside from the defender's action then what is the purpose of the "except if it's a save" clause of the rules, because then you could literally just stand in front of a keeper and scoop up any parried shots from what would otherwise be an offside position.
  12. The queues into the Doug Ellis were really bad. Lots of people missed the start and the disallowed goal. It was definitely much much worse than usual.
  13. The defender being on the goal line doesn't render it not offside though if the goalkeeper was further out than Bailey. I think there was only one opposition player closer to the goal than Bailey, therefore it was offside. I think according to the rules it probably was offside, although I don't personally think it should have been in terms of the reasons why offside was introduced in the first place (I.e. to stop goal hanging). I'm curious as to why the officials have now said it should have stood though.
  14. Slightly lucky, but a decent result. Not totally convincing performance though.
