  1. He trod on the ball and fell over when we had a decent attacking opportunity. Then he totally fell apart and subsequently got subbed. But in the first half he had chances. Not a total disaster but, well, not great.
  2. Every single time he took the wrong choice. Every single time... He is clearly really talented, as (for example) his late burst from the left wing into the area the long way round the fullback showed. But on the flip side, in a different incident, how did he fail to see Kodjia was through on goal and was just a simple tap of the ball away? He really doesn't seem a part of the team. He just doesn't 'fit' somehow.
  3. Was a great goal, and it capped a fine performance. However I would like to know why he stopped running after half an hour, shortly after he scored. It was frustrating because that first 30mins he was totally unplayable.
  4. I was at the game. First half hour we were good and Kodjia was superb. We had movement and pace and looked dangerous. Then we just suddenly stopped. No obvious reason why, could it be that the players ran out of energy after just 30 minutes? Brentford certainly didn't look tired. And Ayew was awful - literally every decision he made was the wrong one. He missed the most obvious simple pass to Kodjia who would have been free on goal and instead knocked it sideways to Bacuna who completely messed it up. Really really poor. And don't blame the fans - the players stopped playing before the fans got edgy. The fans were urging the team on after the first goal.
  5. This could be very interesting if more information emerges. Bet it gets swept under the carpet though.
  6. Feeling very optimistic about these transfers. All of them seem sensible and well thought out. Dr Tony has done good. Over to you now RDM to get them playing together well.
  7. Hooray! It's my favourite day of the year! Never get any work done today...
  8. Lots of questions still for me. The Luton game was a disgrace and totally unnecessary, the substitutions so far are dubious, the second half performance are terrible. I know this is effectively a new team and needs time to bed in and some losses are expected, but what we have seen so far suggests to me that we are miles off any actual progress, despite what seem on the face of it to be a decent set of incoming transfers. Lots of work to do still Roberto. Lots.
  9. Very concerned. Still cannot excuse the Luton game. That rang a lot warning bells for me. Hopefully it will improve as the team beds in, but so far nothing has convinced me.
  10. Have been very unsure about RDM since the utterly unnecessary embarrassment of the Luton game. Nothing I have seen then has convinced me otherwise. Still, early days and it is a new team effectively so they will need time to gel, but we should be able to hold into a lead once in a while..
  11. Hmmm... Why was he at the West Ham game then? Transfer related? Valencia maybe?
  12. You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means
  13. True! But if he's on the bench, there's a chance he might end up on the pitch...
  14. Richards on the bench yet again
  15. !!!!??!! I am guessing this is what Jedinak did to Dr Tony's hand in that handshake?
  16. Well Elphick got a yellow for some off-the-ball wrestling and we seem to be letting them create chances.
  17. Guardian saying 51% possession. Not only are possession stats irrelevant, they are apparently completely made up
  18. Glad the same team are starting, but my word, that bench... I mean Richards yet again? After the Luton game? When we already have a right back and a CB on the bench anyway? I cannot understand it, I just can't.
  19. :-( So many good memories. How can this have happened?
  20. Going back to the pies, I was a bit overenthusiastic in retrospect, probably just because they were different. It was very tasty, but the structural integrity of the pastry was worrying. I found a review of Phat pies at football grounds on pierate.co.uk where they were very critical of the pastry. Be interesting to see what others think.
  21. In the Lower Trinity they had Greene King but I could only see it in bottles where I was.
  22. Not the first time Grealish has done that to a defender...
  23. I am not sure the other players want to give him the ball. There were two or three times today when he was in lots of space and could have been released on one of his directionally-unpredictable runs and yet this option was not taken by the other players. Strange.
