  1. I am not sure either how Adomah got so many votes. He did well for the goals but he did seem to sttuggle to impact the game to me at other times. Not a terrible performance or anything but I didn't think he was outstanding. Amavi, however, I thought was sensational. He didn't put a foot wrong, he was assured and confident and was always a step ahead of the opposition mentally. Really impressed with him today. The Jedi had one of his best games so far as well - I think he has settled and looks really solid. Anybody know anything much about the Warnock/Grealish altercation after the game? Seems like they had words in the tunnel or something.
  2. "They are sitting ducks, just standing there" - Hoddle's insightful comment on Scotland's defenders.
  3. Wow. That is fantastic. Stories like this make me wish I could have found a way to get the dedication needed to play the drums to a decent standard. I am always amazed at those who have the courage and temperament to commit to playing their instrument professionally. I for one have never had the self belief! I hope we get to hear many interesting tales of your life as a pro musician.
  4. So what we're saying is that Neil Warnock was completely correct to question Villa buying Ross and that everything he said regarding how to fit him in the team was bang on the money.
  5. Westfield's play in claret and blue. I thought that was quite neat until I read they picked west ham's colours They should have picked lilac. Or pomegranate mist.
  6. I assume Gabby is on the bench just for the windup factor. Could be a smart move from Bruce. I don't imagine he will play a part in the game.
  7. Glad that Bruce has recognised he needs to be played up front and not out on the wing somewhere. If only RDM had worked that out earlier... Super goal by him though, and great to see more of his runs into the penalty area.
  8. Wow, we looked good in those highlights. Kodjia is class.
  9. Please god no, anything but an Oasis song. This is Birmingham. We need to stop all this Manchester worship that the press keep bashing us with. Singing such a Manchester song? Ugh.
  10. It is easy to say Jack was silly to kick out like he did, but to be fair he was completely clattered by the other player, then wrestled to the ground and then had his leg deliberately trapped so he couldn't get up. Not at all surprised he got worked up about it - yes, he should have known that kicking out would get him into trouble, but I am convinced he was just trying to escape the wrestling hold the Wolves player had on him. Personally I think he has been playing well this year and I suspect he will improve under Bruce.
  11. Just gone ad-free via the store. Makes the site pleasurable to use again. Don't know who else has seen this, but the ads frequently froze up the page on android chromd and Uber were managing to get the browser to fire up the Google Play store. Extremely bad from on their part. Regardless of this, £2 or so a month is a no-brainer for such a great site.
  12. Could be worse... Reading have listed their fans on their bench for some reason.
  13. Oh my GOD. How can anybody put Micah Richards in the team? I had higher expectations of Steve Bruce than this. Hugely disappointed.
  14. Well. Joe Hart MOTM for me. One of the most extravagant saves I have ever seen.
  15. That backpass from Dier... That is a shocker even by Villa standards.
  16. Won't be Bradley then. Swansea aren't hanging around, sacking their manager and announcing the replacement at the same time. Wonder how long it will take us?
  17. The most historical of football matches. The first league winners vs the first superclub. Will be a drab, awful 1-1 with an own goal from Villa in the 90th.
  18. So when I was at the U23 game vs Tamworth a few weeks back, a guy who claimed to work for Villa said to me "I probably shouldn't be telling you this but we're getting relegated again this season." I assumed he was talking nonsense, but... well...
  19. How can anybody say they want the guy who has just embarrassed the entire game of football in this country and left his reputation (such as it was) in complete tatters as our next manager? As if we aren't already an embarrassing enough club. Anyway. We are rubbish. Another not-good-enough-result. Dr Tony must be fuming right now.
  20. As much as I have been disappointed with RDM so far, never in a million years would I have wanted Pearson at Villa. He is just too much of a live wire. Will be interesting to see how this unfolds and what action Derby take. Could a different manager kick them into gear? Or will they disintegrate totally like we did last year?
  21. I just cannot see why we should give him time. It is apparent that this is what we are and this is what we will remain under RDM. Giving him time will just result in us getting even worse. He should have been hauled up for an inquiry after the Luton game. Nothing I have seen so far this season (apart from maybe the Rotherham game) is remotely acceptable given the money spent. My only issue is I have literally no idea who we could replace him with, and that is the biggest problem.
  22. Totally agree. He should have targeted that game as a fresh beginning, a chance to get an early win and build confidence from there. Instead he decided it wasn't important and gave the likes of Richards yet another chance to show how useless they are. We capitulated and, to me, set the tone for all the games played since. RDM needed to sort out the confidence in the club but that Luton game basically did the exact opposite. I mean, Richards as Captain? Terrible management.
  23. Damn. He looked really good on wednesday. Fast, good with the ball, fitter than most of the rest of the team. If Richards gets anywhere near our defence now... Lord help us.
  24. I thought he was one of our best players last night. I was surprised just how fast he is. He definitely was one of the hardest working out there too. But his injury looked very bad, and to be honest, I was amazed he tried to carry on. Reminded me a bit the the injury Weimann had in Vienna when he tried to carry on and just crumbled afterwards.
